Noriyuki Iwadare was back with even more love than ever in with his score to Amagami. Following his work on True Love Story, KimiKiss, and spinoffs, the composer dedicated an entire three discs to his work on Amagami for the first time in the series. Though he only composed 39 pieces for the game, he elaborated more than before on each of them and presented them in two different sound versions. The retro sound version on the last disc emphasises the melodic aspects of the compositions with old-school synth.

Anime Review: Amagami SS Plus (Lights, Camera, Action!)

Taking place in the fictional town of Kibito over the course of six weeks sometime during the latter half of the s, Amagami tasks players with managing the daily schedule of the protagonist named Junichi Tachibana by default by choosing which of the six leading heroines to spend time with during each school day across four time periods each day. A spiritual successor of sorts to the developer's previous game, KimiKiss , Amagami inherits a streamlined version of its puzzle-based strategic conversation system while abandoning its semi-random encounter system for finding characters during the school day in favor of the wholly deterministic hex-based scheduling system. Two years prior to the start of Amagami, on Christmas Eve, the protagonist, in his last year of middle school equivalent to grade 9 in Western education systems , is left waiting for a date that never arrives. Distraught and embarrassed, from that point on until more than halfway through his second year of high school, he chooses to stop pursuing any romantic relationships with girls until a conversation with one of his close friends, Masayoshi Umehara, inspires him to give it another try.

By Drew Hurley Who doesn't love a good epilogue? A chance to see where the characters ended up after the story reached its conclusion, plus how relationships change and develop. Amagami SS was made up of six very different stories, some clearly wrapping up a story and others building up to a relationship forming, but never actually seeing how the pair would do as a couple. The series gets a reorder but, with each story acting as a standalone story, it means fans can pick exactly which lady's story to see. Straight-laced class rep Tsukasa Ayatsuji has kept her relationship with Junichi quiet, and the story picks up with her planning on running for Student Council President, along with posting Junichi as her Vice-President.

Two years ago, Tachibana Junichi got his heart broken by a girl who didn't show up for a date on Christmas Eve. Now a second year student in high school, Junichi spends his days inside his closet planetarium, going to school and hanging out with his friends Tanamachi Kaoru and Umehara Masayoshi. After a chance encounter with one of the most beautiful girls in school, the third year student Morishima Haruka, Junichi finds himself spending time with her, carrying books for her or having her unexpectedly jump on his back and act as she's a jockey and he's her horse. Soon enough, Junichi becomes romantically interested in Haruka which leads to Amagami SS is based on a PS2 dating game featuring six different girls.
