After tweeting a random tennis ball icon, distributor Funimation announced they have acquired the rights to The Prince of Tennis and many of its instalments for the United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, Canada and other territories. In addition, they have confirmed that The Prince of Tennis will receive an all-new English dub, as Viz Media only covered the first 50 episodes back in the mids. C and Studio Kai covering 2 episodes total. As mentioned above, the two episodes will begin streaming on Friday 16th April in Japanese audio with English subtitles.

The Prince of Tennis
Lu Xia is a tennis prodigy who lived overseas since he was a child with his parents. However, trapped under the shadow of his father, Lu Xia only sees tennis as a tool to win over him, losing the passion and happiness in playing tennis altogether. Upon returning to China, he joins in a high school tennis team and met various tennis masters. Here, he begins to realize the meaning of tennis and figure out his own identity as a player.
In the process of working to win the national league, Lu Xia and his teammates learn to work as a group and understand the importance of friends. The latest adaptation of one of my favorite anime of all time is here!
I immediately opened it and started binge-watching. And before I get into explaining my favorite characters and scene, I ask all of you to watch it now!
You will have no regrets. I am not a fan of Chinese movies or series. The last time I watched a Chinese movie is from Jackie Chan. Lu Xia. I am not really comfortable with Chinese language as a dub but I still got used to it at the first episodes of the series. I am also not comfortable with some of the characters but in time, I started to like everyone on the team. He really looks good with poker face on.
His height is also good being the smallest on the team. The next one who made an impact at the first episodes is Zhang Baiyang who is Kaido in the anime series. Setting aside that bandana, he really looks tough. His facial reactions are just so natural. I really admire the people who chose the cast of this series. He likes to run and his physical body is just right for someone who runs like that all the time.
I really love his voice, too. My favorite pair also did a good job together. They acted like a couple in the series but it was alright. I personally like Jiale who is Eiji in the anime. His facial reaction is just like how I imagined Eiji in real life. It was rather fun. The thing is, Dayong who is Oishi in the anime lacks the impact I am looking for. The golden pair as a duo is great. I like it when he smiles. He also did a good job on portraying the character. I was just confused on the part where they are all reviewing for those who failed the test in the theme.
But how come? Zhou Zhi is a genius, both in school and in tennis. Did the staff of this series looked for the appearance first before the acting abilities of the film? Or is it the other way around? Siyang, or Tezuka the captain, is really amazing. The expressions are so accurate. It really suits my taste. Although I only saw him play a match for like three times in the whole series, against Lu Xia, Zhou Zhi and Jingwu, his aura was still there. The captain role suits him well.
Just look at how he stands. Zhiming, or Inoue, and Qiao Chen, or Momo, did fairly a good job, too. Qiao Chen is so playful in this series while Inoue is the serious geek but a little dumb, too. These two played a vital role of making the series light. They are two of the funniest in the team. His moves are also a little unstable. The Yan-Juice scenes are really good, though.
His facial expression is also so awkward. His story is a little emotional, though. I enjoyed it. I like the scene where Jiuxin is there.
It is one thing that I am looking forward in the anime. I am aware that not all of the anime fans like the romance thing going on in the anime but I am not one of them. I like how pure their love is. Shout out to Huang Jing, one of the trio freshmen. I really enjoyed this cute boy. I like how they changed their first encounter to something like that. It makes him more admirable. Like Like. For me the cast who played Sakuno is to cringe.
Her voice didnt give me vibe of High school Girl. More like some spoiled kids. The can cast othe actress with more decent looks and charisma. I skipped the parts whre she talked. Too cringe.
