Although I can follow the romance aspect of the anime, I don't get what the story is trying to tell us. It may have been due to Glasslip being the first original anime that P. Works has made.

Summer 2014 anime preview: Glasslip

Glasslip tells the story of a young girl who dreams of becoming a glass artisan. One day, a transfer student came by and told her about the fragments of the future. The arrival of the transfer student made the summer break of Touko and her friends memorable with heartaches, hardships, friendship and unrequited love.

First off, I really really loved the scenery. The show is full of gorgeous and breath-taking landscape artworks that captured the countryside. Another is the character development. I really liked how the writers managed to bring out the good and the bad in each of the characters.

A fine example of this would be Hiro. Each and everyone of the characters all faced something that, in one way or another, helped in changing themselves. The music of this show is very very calming. Since the setting is on the rural side of Japan, one can expect to hear calming music of the countryside. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Twitter account. todokanaikoi: “Glasslip Opening - 'Natsu no Hi to Kimi no Koe'”.

Oh no, there's been an error

This is somewhat unfortunate, given that the opening sequences of an anime can yield some rather unexpected insights into what an anime is intended to be about through its choice of visuals. Glasslip has long been held to be a difficult-to-understand anime owing to its execution, which resulted in the anime branching outwards in several directions, each of which were not incorporated neatly into the story as a whole. When the finale had aired, agreement was universal amongst the audience that this anime had failed to satisfy expectations. All five friends are seen together at the cafe to establish that this is a closely-knit group. When the frame switches over to Kakeru listening for something, the opening aims to convey the notion that this new character is of a lesser-known background. To be featured in the opening, this phenomenon is implied to play a significant role within the anime proper, and its failure to have been explored properly accounts for why Glasslip is consistently said to have fallen short of expectations. The first is that there is a focus on a group of friends where relationships begin to take shape and over time, gradually alter their dynamics. To reinforce this notion, they are depicted as closely-knit such that once events are instigated, the extent of the impact imparted by relationships can readily be seen. This tie is thus expected to be the element that sets in motion the events of the anime. The usual rationale for including supernatural elements in an ordinary world is that authors wish to demonstrate that some things, such as love, might not be so easy even in the presence of additional powers that are long perceived to simplify the process.

During the summer before their senior year of high school, a transfer student named Kakeru Okikura joins the high school.

The Summer Day and Your Voice

Welcome to the Summer season! It starts with a festival and fireworks, and ends in a cafe with… different fireworks. One notable event that breaks up the otherwise ordinary existence of our female include the female lead Fukami Touko newcomer Fukagawa Seria meeting a new transfer student Okikura Kakeru Ohsaka Ryouta who looks and acts a lot like Tsumugu in Nagi no Asukara a show I watched along with Preston and also enjoyed quite a bit. Free range is well and good, until predators arrive; his comments are enough to spook her into rounding up the birds and distributing them among the houses of her friends. This action is as good a way as any to map out the ensemble and give us a glimpse of their personalities.

Natsu no Hi to Kimi no Koe-Glasslip OP

If I screw up or accidently spoil stuff, forgive me while i bash my head into the nearest wall. Ah, romance. The type of mushy-gushy crap I vomit at when i watch it in the movie theater yet fawn over whenever its in an anime. But seriously, one of the strong points of this show is its visuals. Never have i seen fireworks look so pretty in an anime before. Glasslip is animated by P.

It certainly looks like one, with crisp, light colours and beautifully done animation by the well-known P. Works especially all the glass! The initial setting is even perfect for it, as we are introduced to five high school friends going about doing slice of life anime-like things, like meeting up at a cafe to talk about nothing in particular.

The only show that could ever be worse than Glasslip would be Glasslip 2. IRC channel : [email protected]. Pretty big difference in translations there. Learn to script write. All the stuff I point out in these posts is something anyone with a native understanding of the language would pick up on if they gave it a second of thought. Stop sucking.

Works and is directed by Junji Nishimura. Matt Packard of Anime News Network praised Glasslip for being visually beautiful, but criticized it for the generic characters, the lack of explanations for the supernatural phenomena introduced at the beginning of the series, and the presence of too many incongruities.

In yet another town by a sea, somewhere in rural Japan, P. Kakeru Okikura, a sullen transfer student with some kind of telepathic attraction to Touko Fukami, our lead protagonist and the daughter of a glass blower, seems to set her four best friends on edge. Also, apparently a group of pet chickens from the local school needs someone to care for them and who else other than the main characters of the show would be up for to the task?
