For me it was also a week before I was scheduled to fly to Tokyo I ended up delaying the trip by 12 days and having a fantastic time anyway , so I felt the massive displacement in my own way from across the sea. So much has happened since then, it hardly seems possible that it was less than six weeks ago. It took a few moments to get back into the rhythm and flow of the series. It would be easy to argue that this is the most anticipated finale any anime has seen for a long time — when you consider how immensely popular this show is and the delay.

What happened in the end of Madoka Magica?
Apr Posted by McTricky. I have mixed feelings about the ending. Part of me says that it was amazing ending to the series, and part of me says that the ending could have gone another route. But hey, Puella Magi Madoka Magica turned out to be one of the best anime series in recent memory. Still, the fight was pretty entertaining and nice to look at. We see Homura pull out her own Unlimited Bazooka Works with a combination of her time magic to fight against Walpurgisnacht.
Still Walpurgisnacht is too strong for Homerun-chan to take down. I also noticed what seemed to look like censoring on her leg? Did she mess it up? The cliffhanger on this was just so intense, seeing Homura fall into despair for not being able to save Madoka from her fate and almost turning into a witch.
That is until Madoka saves her from doing so, and decides to make a contract with Kyubey to become a magical girl. With my own hands! And with that wish, the game of Puella Magi and Witches is hacked.
The system has been beaten. Madoka not only becomes a Puella Magi, but she becomes a Goddess. Nah, not really. She actually does a world-reset. But in exchange, Madoka will have no memories of people, and people will have no memories of her.
Amongst the reunions with Mami, Kyoko and Sayaka during the episode, I felt a bit of warmth coming from those scenes, especially the scene with Kamijou playing the violin and seeing his dream come true, which tugged at the strings of my heart a bit. That way, the game would have been broken without her input. The story was where it was at, with a cliffhanger at more or less every episode, and basically being a show that re-defined the Mahou Shoujo genre.
Yuki Kaijura never ceases to amaze with her compositions as the music in this show was amazing, and having her girl group Kalafina doing the ED of the show was simply glorious. I had some tears by the end of the show. No more Madoka Thursday.
This show is a firm 9. Bookmark the permalink. Amazing end to a somewhat addictive series! My only complaints would be toward Madoka herself, for mostly crying and what not. Thankfully she did something at the end and turned into universe madoka! When I finished the series, I was also unsure of what to feel, but overall this is a wonderful, it indeed redefined mahou shoujo genre.
But I kind of love the whole thing in the end. Episode 8 Kyubey: Oh hey, if you wanted to you could screw with reality and become a god. The only thing I am sad about is lack of yuri. I am a girl and I am sad about that. Nothing against yuri, but if they made the whole Madoka-Homura friendship more on the yuri side, it would have taken away from the effort towards the main plot.

Homu Homu is still the best character in the series. I guess it's time to tackle all the big questions this series left us with. There were many things people found unclear about the episode and the general different direction the ending took. Quite obviously, this will be spoiler-ific, so you have been warned.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is focused around the concept of sadness. She keeps reliving the same events over and over again via time travel. After the gunfight with Mami, Homura shoots herself in the head. There are also several explicit allusions to Homura having suicidal urges. First place could belong to no other series but Madoka Magica, and that is a fact. The series is not only depressing at every turn , but its dark themes took most by total surprises. Reliant Immortality: By virtue of being a concept, she is immortal as long as her concept continues to exist. Madoka is willing to sacrifice herself for the world. Even if she ends up fighting Madoka, even if that means being hated by Madoka, Homura will save Madoka. In Episode 11 Homura and Madoka have a conversation in which Homura confesses everything to Madoka: she professes her love for her , as well as how important Madoka is to her this has been interpreted as a love confession, but others see it as a sign of deep friendship.

Madoka Magica: The Ending
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is focused around the concept of sadness. She keeps reliving the same events over and over again via time travel. She is a mysterious veteran magical girl who first appears to Madoka Kaname in a dream. Despite her main goal being to protect Madoka her desire is considered to be a self-destroying obsession and ultimately leads to her becoming a demon to give Madoka the life she believes she wants. If you finish the game Grief Syndrome with only Homura and Madoka still alive, the ending will depict them getting married. However, Grief Syndrome is a fan game and as such is not officially part of the franchise, nor recognized by Studio Shaft or series writer Gen Urobuchi.
