The game begins at the start of the series and ends at the ending of the second film. The game plays in an action game format with a standard third-person view. It features newly hand animated cutscenes that depict events from the original television series as well as a CGI opening depicting a space battle from the One Year War and then a scene of the Gundam destroying several Zaku IIs before being attacked by Char Aznable. The English dub of the video game features the voices of the actors who were cast for the Mobile Suit Gundam television series as with most games subsequent to the series' dubbing, rather than the English cast of the films.

One of the best gundam games. Represents the one year war very well with great graphics for the time the game was created. Great video sequences depicting the story line with easy to pick up controls that make the gameplay easy to get into. Wide assortment of mobile suits. Fun little game if you're an original Gundam fan, even better if you've seen the original series because you're living in it throughout the game with clips from the show. Great game works great love the game thanks. It's what I remember I just never realized how bad the controls were though. If you like gundam you'll get a kick out of this game. Just enjoying some old school PS2 right about now.
