Madoka Yabuchi

Madoka is a slim, athletic and attractive girl with long slender black hair that reaches her shoulders and has black colored eyes. Due to her attractive appearance, many boys' who are younger or at her age fall in affection with her and she is known as the 'Gem' of the girl's basketball team. Madoka is a kind and friendly teenager who respects her peers and elders. Upon her introduction in the series, she warned Sora Kurumatani of the lurking dangers of joining the boys' basketball team.

Madoka takes basketball very seriously, and being a passionate athlete of the sport growing up, Yuka Kurumatani was her idol. When she heard Sora is her son, Madoka quickly formed a strong rapport with her. Coincidentally, Madoka's sister was the primary nurse in charge of taking care of Yuka Kurumatani. Due to that reason, Madoka developed a friendly relationship with Sora Kurumatani 's mom and would often visit the health facility. After Yuka's sudden passing, Madoka went into depression.

As a result, later on in the series, she faced many problems in forming relationships with her family and peers. Madoka is the woman of Sora's dreams, but she hasn't shown affection to him. As her senior, she considers Kurumatani as her friend and gives him advice regarding basketball or life in general. Later on, at a local restaurant, Madoka met Tsukasa, who plays for Tamagawa Gaukin. The two went on a date.

Shortly afterwards, Madoka ended her relationship with him to focus on her high school basketball career. Soon, things gradually returned to normal for her. Madoka is the ace of her basketball team and takes the sport very seriously. In the first half of the series, Madoka had decent basketball skills. Under his tutelage, she improves her skills further, both on the offensive and defensive end, such as ball-handling skills, make open jump shots, rebounds and the ability to create effective screens.

Ahiru no Sora - Episode Guide

The WORST episodes of Ahiru no Sora

Plot: Lacking what is considered the most important asset in basketball, Sora Kurumatani has struggled with his short height since the inception of his love for the game. Despite missing this beneficial aspect, Sora's unwavering drive never allowed his small stature to dictate his ability to play, believing strongly in trying his hardest and persistently practicing to prove his capability. In hopes of satisfying his mother's wishes, Sora enters Kuzuryuu High School to become a member of the basketball club and compete wholeheartedly in tournaments. However, Sora is disappointed to find out that the boy's basketball team is nothing but a retreat for punks who have no interest in the sport.
