In September , a string of seemingly random suicides leaves Japan baffled and devastated. But a detective agency specializing in paranormal occurrences notices that there are a few glaring, disturbing similarities tying the deceptively unrelated cases together: All the victims are schoolgirls, and all of them have jumped to their deaths from atop the ancient Fujou Building, a skyscraper that is scheduled to be bulldozed soon.
To investigate the cause of these disturbing events, the head of the agency, magus Touko Aozaki, dispatches Mikiya Kokutou and Shiki Ryougi. The kind and surprisingly normal Mikiya serves as a stark contrast to the cold and mysterious Shiki, who possesses the "Mystic Eyes of Death Perception": an abnormal ability which allows her to see, and bring, an end to all things.

Highest Quality with Deserved Theatric Sound. Kara no Kyoukai is an excellent, convoluted, mature story with some of the best animation and sound track in Japanese animation. This box set really puts out the movie series in its deserved Blu-Ray quality, with a soundtrack optimized better than the DVD set I own both , giving the sensation of watching the series in a movie theater. The box looks good on the shelf, the additional art book is neat, and the overall feel of the set is exclusive - if a little too much so. The product has a bit of an issue standing upright by itself, as the front and back panels of the box set tilt somewhat. It is recommended to get a stand fort it, if you are planning to display it by itself. This set is OoP, and the current Aniplex set does not offer the glory that these movies deserve. With any original release fans of a franchise demand the "theatrical" versions over all others.
