As the series begins, En, a leading sorcerer and mafioso, hears word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, and sends his hitmen, the apathetic Shin and his partner, the bubbly and extremely muscular Noi, into the Hole to take care of Caiman, kicking off a messy conflict between the two worlds. Though the initial premise would suggest otherwise, the moral world of Dorohedoro is far from black and white, the society of the sorcerers appearing as one with its own internal conflicts and machines of oppression. Despite its seemingly grim setup, Dorohedoro defies typical revenge narrative darkness through sheer charisma, homing in on the relationships between its bizarre, larger-than-life characters. Cramming about seven volumes of the manga into 12 episodes, the show moves at a brisk pace, bouncing back and forth between its ensemble cast of weirdos.

When Will ‘Dorohedoro’ Season 2 be on Netflix?
The show tells the story about Caiman, an amnesic man disfigured by magic, who tries to recover both his original face and memories about his past. In a city so dismal it's known only as "the Hole," a clan of Sorcerers has been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious "experiments" in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they're hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually, they'll kill the right one.
But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of "cleaners" into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.

Netflix has announced on their social media account NX that the anime series Dorohedoro will be made available on the platform for territories outside of Japan starting 28th May The series will be available as part of the Netflix branded N Series label and is expected to include multiple audio options and subtitle options including an English dub and subtitles. A sorcerer cursed him with a reptile head and left him with no memory of his life before the transformation. Along with his best friend Nikaido, Caiman is hunting down sorcerers in the Hole, searching for the one who can undo his curse and killing the rest. Dorohedoro ran for 12 episodes total and was directed by Yuichiro Hayashi with Hiroshi Seko credited for the script. Viz Media have released the manga series with an English translation and is available to read under their Signature label.

Sometimes, the main characters are the only thing that snag me, but in the case of Dorohedoro , the very first chapter had me hungry to know every piece of minutiae about this dystopian hellscape. Dorohedoro is filled with devils, sorcerers, cockroach people and a man with a lizard head seeking his lost memories. Yes, really. You need to see this. The apocalypse came, and with it, a new world order. The latter is bright and clean, and much more civilized. While humans and sorcerers may look similar, they are completely different species.

Well, roughly five months after its debut, Netflix subscribers can finally stream the episode adaptation, starting today. Hayashida first published Dorohedoro in Shogakukan's seinen magazine Monthly Ikki since before it moved to Shogakukan's Hibana manga magazine in when Ikki ceased to publish. Since ending Dorohedoro , Hayashia has moved on to publish a new similarly dark and grotesque series titled Dai Dark. With the TV anime-only consisting of 12 episodes, you'd be right in surmising that the entire manga series was not covered.
