Princess tutu tv tropes

Unlike Ahiru, Tutu is a very graceful and elegant ballerina. Her mission is to find and return the missing pieces of Mytho 's heart. In The Prince and the Raven , Tutu was a minor character that confessed her love to the Prince—which, because of a curse, caused her to turn into a speck of light and vanish. Still in love with Mytho, her quest is to gather the pieces of his missing heart and return them to him. Hidden in the hearts of the residents of Gold Crown Town , Tutu can retrieve Mytho's heart shards by dancing with them and helping them to realize their true feelings.

Remember Me. Fakir is a large skeptic of the supernatural, until he is met face-to-face with a particularly cute ghost inhabiting his new abode. Puddletown, Goldcrownshire is a town where everyone knows everyone. Fakir, Rue, and Mytho have known each other since they were in diapers, so when a new person arrives and shakes up their entire town, they feel threatened.

When it becomes clear to them that when Ahiru starts receiving special treatment, they feel the need to bring her back down to their level. When Edel, a travelling show woman, settles down with her goddaughter Ahiru, everything seems to change. Despite her best efforts, Ahiru is unsure if she will ever truly fit in with anyone. Years have passed since Princess Tutu dispelled the grip of Drosselmeyer over Gold Crown Town, and reverted back to being a simple duck.

Mytho and Rue married and moved to the capital, becoming rulers of the country, and Fakir is coping with his loneliness while working as a ballet teacher at their old Academy. All around, peace has seemingly settled into the lives of the people of the land. However, the plain and uneventful nature of the place is soon enough threatened by a shadow that lurks in Fakir's own heart It has been years since the events of the main story. Fakir, while doing his best to try and bring Ahiru back to being human, time is running up as Ahiru is slowly dying of old age.

As she was about to die, a light brought her back from the dead and transformed her into a swan and then human right before Fakir. While delighted to have her back, Fakir and Ahiru know that this sudden change must be an omen that there is something on the horizon. Not long after, the people in the town of Golden Crown start acting strange.

It's almost like they were back in the Prince and the Raven story mixed with classic fairy tales. Fakir is able to write to combat it, with Ahiru taking on the crown as Princess Tutu again, but things keep getting worse. Then, a girl with a magical book that seems to read the past and read the future like an unfinished novel that seems to know everything about Ahiru and Fakir.

She approaches them with the need for help, claiming to be the Narrator of a new book that could change the outcome of the world around them. And with their service, she offers to return Ahiru to being human entirely once more. Now lets just assume that they're from the same universe and tweak canon as necessary to make it fit. This is an entirely self indulgent story so I can watch my current favorite characters interact. For the sake of my self indulgence this will be a character driven story rather than a plot driven story.

Inspired by perchance quote generator that gave me this result:. Mytho: Is stabbing someone immoral? Rue: Not if they consent to it. Cale: YES?!? Fakir is tasked with giving a friend of a friend medical supplies she needs, but when he enters her house and she's passed out on the floor, will the chain of events bring him closer to her, or push him away?

Honestly, just a cute idea I keep wanting to reuse. Enjoy more PTT content! Drosselmeyer was wandering around the inner workings of stories and looking into several but not finding any that sparked his interest. Listening to Uzura drumming did not help in any way. Finally he stumbled upon a unique world where nearly everyone had strange abilities.

This has led to a delightful society full of lots of tragedy and conflicts. There were two corrupt heads on either side and an army of people for both. He needed his puppets in there to make sure that the story would have a magnificent ending.

So off he goes to gather his puppets, making sure he can pull the strings this time. It was just Autor's luck that on the first day he and his sister, Ahiru, return to school, he gets into an argument with an asshole. Ahiru, on the other hand, had an amazing day and made a few good friends, but no one makes an ass of her brother except her.

The crow scouts had been very specific -- a girl with a long braid and a surly man with a sword had walked into her grotto. Yet before her stood Fakir and Princess Tutu. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the chain worn around the neck of the prima princesse.

The little red stone that had always drawn her attention, the little freckle that laid just above the chain, and the yellow nails that were cut too short as if to prevent a nervous habit.

Ahiru is a princess who hates every suitor she meets. She and another prince, Fakir, lie about being in a relationship to avoid getting into an unwanted marriage, all while Ahiru tries to court him.

While their story had ended, many loose ends and lingering feelings remained. Fakir and Duck wish to move forward, but their identities mix with the characters they used to be, and untangling the connection is a great challenge.

Lay down your weary head my dear and listen to a tales told twice, for adaptation breathes new life.. Edelweiss aways did love her Husband's tales, tragic and beautiful as they are but she too had plans for this stories progression. After all, doesn't everyone have a favorite character? On her first day she makes friends with Ahiru. Top of Work Index. Rue becomes Princess Kraehe by putting on a pair of cursed slippers; in episode 10, which deconstructed Cinderella, she appears and tries to marry Mytho with.

So Drosselmeyer, after having his fairy tale stopped, manages to continue it as a Magical Girl series - he finds a pure-hearted girl and gives her a power to transform into a prettier and more capable version of herself that no-one can recognize for some reason. It goes all according to his script as one - there's a Dark Magical Girl to oppose her and a suitable reason for Heroic BSoD at the darkest moment. Basically, the manga is one version of how the story should have been and would have been with a more Genre Savvy author. But Drosselmeyer tries to force it to be a tragedy as it nears the conclusion. How many Magical Girl series with classical tragedy-style endings do you know? Of course, the already-shaped story, already a mix of a fairy tale and Magical Girl series, can't conform; the three styles would contradict each other too much. The characters refuse to behave out of character - an Ensemble Dark Horse Tall, Dark, and Handsome Knight in Sour Armor can't die in a fight according to a prophecy, a Plucky Ditzy Magical Girl won't give up hope , and won't just sacrifice herself to a villain conforming to set destiny. So in the end, even Fakir, who is both an inexperienced writer and a character in the story himself thus, theoretically , entirely under Drosselmeyer's control , can break the tie with a clumsily written in-universe Author's Saving Throw of a twist. He can make everything and everyone go on, despite only having direct control over Ahiru's story probably due to the other WMG here about her being his character initially , because his version is more in accordance with genre conventions.

Slow-Paced Beginning: It starts off as a usual story about a cutesy Magical Girl, funny animals with a basic Gotta Catch Them All story plot. But after a few.

Princess Tutu

Has a lot of fun with the nonsensical aspects of the series. Unlike many Abridged Series , Princess Tutu Abridged does not reduce the number of episodes in the series. This likely stems from the fact that the original show is itself fairly compact, with important events even in seeming filler episodes. Much of the drama, humor, and even some actual lines from the dub, are also left in and used unironically.

I think Rue would be a fanfic writer, but she would have the most popular fanfic in the fandom. Mytho would be making memes. Probably mostly screenshots with fake captions, but also videos. To be fair, a good number of my characters have husbands I'm just too lazy to try and draw that probably do that for them. Both of these series involve breaking from the narratives others try to force on you. We look to fairy tales for magic and wonder, for 5 hour energy shots of virtue and morality, not the slow plod of rich character nuance.

But both of their hearts were in the right places. Both wanted to protect Mytho. The problem was that the two did not agree on how to do so. Ahiru's alter-ego was Princess Tutu. With every heart shard returned, Mytho regained more of his emotions and consequentially, the story progressed. Princess Tutu was meant to drive the story forward. Ahiru had been pulled into Drosselmeyer because it had stalled.

Mobile Suit Gundam is a legendary series, somewhat known as the grandfather of all the mecha anime that you know and love. Funny enough, while the mecha are the most recognizable piece of this series that dates all the way back to , the most important pieces are the human characters. These characters, while to casual audiences aren't even a factor, are the true life of the series and due to them tons of different series tropes were born. While fans look forward to most of these tropes in each series a few have kind of lost their luster.
