The kids did enjoy it which is the main thing, but they haven't been asking when they can watch it again, they much preferred the Sonic movie. Helpful Report abuse. It was an okay film to be honest as tom and jerry films go, the actors involved could have done a better job but kids wont notice, only thing is my 7 year old who loves tom and jerry would not finish this film, he always got bored before the end and would ask me if he was allowed to do something else instead so he never finished it, i just dont think the story is fast paced enough to keep kids intrested the whole way through.
Two of the most iconic comic book characters in modern history. Funny movie, acted out for laughs and with many nods to the original Tom and Jerry cartoons with classic tricks followed by yelps from Tom. I watched this movie with my two boys on a Sunday afternoon and we laughed out loud all through it They are 10 and 5 and they enjoyed it so much that they were dancing to the music at the end during the film credits.
A roaring success in my eyes, hope to see more like this in the future. Kept my 7 year old grandson's attention thoughtout. He got very excited in parts and laughed out loud. He said "Its a bit dark" as in dark humour, but that was what he liked. He said; "I like the violence!
It was very watchable and although it was expensive to rent , it's less than I would have spent had we gone to the cinema. My 9 year old loves Tom and Jerry, and I grew up watching the old cartoons so when he asked if we could get this, it was a no brainier. Managed to get him to finish it the following day, and he did say it was slightly better towards the end.
Overall though it falls way short of what it could and should have been. It did though and the pace was maintained for the most part. Special effects were good, it kept two grandsons amused throughout and even had their grandparents chuckling from time to time. Loved it! Although largely mute in the original cartoons , the duo speaks throughout this film. Joseph Barbera, co-founder of Hanna-Barbera and co-creator of Tom and Jerry , served as creative consultant for the film. While moving to a new house, Tom and Jerry are left behind by the moving van that Tom's owners are in. Tom chases the van, but is scared away by a bulldog and forced to stay in the house. The next morning, the old house is demolished to the ground, leaving both animals homeless and to wander around the city for shelter until they meet a stray dog named Puggsy and his flea companion, Frankie.
