We currently know little else about the anime and what it may be adapting from the original manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The original Rurouni Kenshin anime adaptation ran for 93 episodes however around only half of these episodes were an adaptation of the manga, with the latter half of the series being anime-original filler, following the highly acclaimed Kyoto Arc.
These would make them prime material for this new anime adaption to adapt however there is no confirmation either way. The series has also been adapted into a series of live-action movies, they are known as some of the best anime adaptations of all time and roughly cover the entire manga, albeit in a more abridged format. Note — We received a promotional copy of this release from Funimation in exchange for our honest review. I watched as the opening episodes captivated the audience with its fantastical setting, hauntingly beautiful soundtrack and, of course, stellar animation. The Ancient Magus Bride would go on to enjoy a successful two-cour run, the first of which was recently released by Funimation for fans to take home! The detail and quality of the outer box is superb. I was particularly impressed by the art on the back — the shot of Chise in Magus robes, framed by the gold border, is striking to say the least. It made me want a full-sized print to hang up somewhere in my house.

Because the two movies Kyoto Inferno and The Legend Ends were released within a month of each other it was like one whole movie to me so getting to watch the DVD I remembered which scenes belonged to which movie. Aside from the dramatic and touching scenes in the movie, the fight scenes are just as awesome as I remember them and since I have the DVD I can re-watch those fight scenes and just gawk at how they were choreographed and shot.
