I actually liked her when I started watching Index, but I think my opinion of her worsened as I watched Railgun. Also, besides the possibly the Remnant arc, Mikoto hasn't been doing anything lately that would grant her the "main character" status in Index. Touma has been running around punching whoever deserves it and Index is the titular character and has been very helpful in situations in the magic side e. Mikoto so far has just been full blown dere whenever Touma is involved and tsun for everything else, and only pops up from time to time. I define a "main character" as one who is the focus of the plot and the center of attention to the audience whenever they are involved in a situation. In Railgun, she is undisputably the main character, but in Index I don't consider her one.

Ah at long last we finally have the sequel to To Aru Majutsu no Index with the second season. Though there is still a good amount of action and a bit of plot development which will keep everyone happy. We start off with Touma suffering his usual misfortune. It so happens that he only has one day left to finish his Summer homework, but because of everything that happened in the end of last season, he did not have any opportunity to finish it at all. Though in the end this turns out to be beneficial to him because lo and behold a magician is knocking on his door. Though they are no longer there. Instead Touma and Index are waiting to be served at a restaurant while Touma tries to finish his work on time.

I'm looking forward to the full ED hopefully sometime this week , and according to Animate, another OP for the series by Mami Kawada will be released in February. So a new OP will probably appear around the halfway mark. My guess is that we'll get a change after the third story arc.
