Irresponsible yet awesome imports: Macross Frontier Movie Boxset
The official website for the Macross anime franchise reopened and announced on Wednesday that the " Macross Frontier the Movie 30th d Shudisuta b Box" will ship on May 15, with English-subtitled discs. The set will include the films Macross Frontier: Itsuwari no Utahime and Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa on two discs, along with an intro sequence for the first film and a new "d Shudisuta b" ending sequence for the second film.
The intro was first shown during the first film's theatrical release, but neither the intro nor the new "d Shudisuta b" ending were included in the previous home video releases. The Play View feature requires a PlayStation 3 system. This bonus disc will also have previously released material, such as the episode " Macross Intelligence Agency" with bonus episodes, Macross Frontier -related commercials, the interview before the first film in which Shoji Kawamori explains how the VF transforms, and Megumi Nakajima 's studio report from the first film.
Namco Bandai Games is releasing the boxes through game retailers. A Macross Card Fighter social game will debut on the Mobage platform in January, and a Macross Sound Scramble sound action game for smartphones will also debut next year.

It took a while, but the Macross franchise is ready to bear fruit for its overseas fans. Roughly 18 months after companies Bigwest, Studio Nue, and Harmony Gold USA struck a deal to permit the worldwide release of Macross properties, officially licensed and localized releases of four Macross anime series will soon go on sale. Now that Bigwest controls licensing for the franchise, it has picked new localization and distribution partners. The anime was originally produced by Bigwest independently in after Studio Nue opted not to create a sequel to the first Macross series. The story focuses on a reporter, Hibiki, who rescues Ishtar, a singer from an alien race called the Marduk.

There is also a DVD version Region 2. One contains both films while the other has the extras disc which can be played on a PS3. It is a Playview disk that contains numerous interviews, "making of" segments, character art, mecha art, and commercials. And of course there are numerous videos with Macross creator, Shoji Kawamori.
