For a Great Dane, Scooby-Doo has had an impressive innings. In all that time the US version of Scooby has been voiced by only five actors the original actor, Don Messick, played him from to , and there remains something so familiar and reassuring about Scooby, even as the storylines and the entanglements of the Scooby gang change around him.
The big screen movie escapade of Scooby-Doo involved Sarah Michelle Gellar as a black-belted Daphne and Rowan Atkinson as the main okay, only suspect, and a few sequels for this live-action approach were spawned. It seems all the big stars want to have a crack at confounding those meddling kids. I love him, my daughter loves him, even our dog loves him. The beginning of the Scooby reboot, Zombie Island is loads of fun — older and wiser, and a bit too scary for those of a nervous disposition; not every monster turns out to be a man in a mask.

The music is really enjoyable throughout, particularly the souped-up version of the theme song that Velma sings at the end — in fact, Velma is voiced for the first time in 30 years by the original actress, Nicole Jaffe, and her vocal performance is loads of fun. Casey Kasem returns too as Shaggy. The baddies are mask-wearing miscreants and everything is kept very light. A very untaxing Scooby film with only the mildest element of peril. A lot of the delight of the modern Doo!
The gang have travelled the world, and seeing Scooby surfing and craving Macadamia Nut Pie is a nice development for this adventure. Alas, this has angered the volcano spirit, the Wiki-Tiki, who also happens to be a rad surfer.

The first official image from Scooby-Doo's Velma spin-off reveals how adult and gory the animated series will be. She is typically depicted wearing an orange turtleneck sweater over a pleated red skirt. While she is the most intelligent member of the Scooby Gang and is frequently instrumental in solving mysteries, she has a habit of losing her glasses, rendering her temporarily unable to see. The series will follow the character's origin story before she ever encountered Scooby-Doo or the Mystery Machine, with The Office writer and star Mindy Kaling voicing the character, who is now of South Asian descent. She also shared a first-look image from the series captured by Variety. The photo shows Velma in a locker room, discovering a grisly murder scene, complete with a body with the top of its skull cut off and its brain removed. I would've never realized that these movies were not in this suggested order in the first place cuz when i watched these films on the tv as a kid, it sorta always made sense to me that the monster unleashed movie was the original and the one with scrappy as the villian was the sequel.
Normally, when one thinks of a G-rated film, kids are what come to mind. But honestly, animated movies can be scary as hell. There are some very disturbing characters and scenes. And, probably, most of them would be rated much higher if they were released today. Especially when that kid stuff has some very adult themes and frights. Disney is problematic, no ifs ands or buts. And some of these films, especially the early ones, have some not-so-great meaning terribly offensive moments.
