Our favorite friendly ghost Casper has his own live-action television series in the work for Peacock. Way back in the s, Casper the Friendly Ghost was first released in animated shorts and a comic series. Years later, viewers saw the first live-action version of Casper alongside Christina Ricci. The movie soon became a favorite of fans and spawned several more films. Still today, around Halloween time, you can find Casper on television. It seems this series will have a different tone than what we have seen before.

Casper the Friendly Ghost is an animated cartoon series based on the concept and illustrations of creators Seymour Reit and Joe Oriolo. The character was created in the late 30s for a children's storybook that generated very little attention. The animation division of Paramount Pictures' Famous Studios purchased the rights to the book from Oriolo, and the cartoon TV series premiered in Physically Casper, the central character, changed a bit, as he was no longer as pudgy as he was in early illustrations.
