Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth

The title is the fifth entry in the Digimon Story franchise, which is a sub-series of the overall Digimon brand, and was released in Japan exclusively for the Vita on March 12, Bandai Namco later localized Cyber Sleuth in February of and published the game in Western territories, which also saw a region exclusive port for the PS4 along with the Vita release. The game features character designs by Suzuhito Yasuda , who is famous for his work on Devil Survivor , and a soundtrack composed by Masafumi Takada , known for Killer7 , No More Heroes and Danganronpa upon other titles. The player assumes the role of either Takumi Aiba boy or Ami Aiba girl. Aiba is a Japanese amateur hacker who receives a program called Digimon Capture from a mysterious stranger in an internet chat room. The program allows them to capture Digimon, digital creatures that inhabit a virtual reality based version of the internet called Cyberspace EDEN which users physically enter.

I checked in on Digimon a few years ago with Digimon Tamers , and found it was completely different from what I knew. In the world of the game, everything is connected to the internet. Digimon are programs used by hackers, after all -- at least as far as the characters know Yes, her name is Nokia… Arata runs off and Aiba explores Kowloon a little, before encountering the leader of the a big hacker group. After choosing, Aiba is attacked by a powerful Digimon -- soon to become known as an Eater. Making an attempt to logout, it grabs them and….

Both Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth games take place in a cheery dystopia where everybody happily spends most of their time in a crude alpha version of the Matrix called EDEN. This virtual world is overrun with hackers, who use Digimon to battle their rivals, commit crimes, and cause general mischief. Our hero is so incensed by this he joins an actual hacker group in order to track down the hacker who framed him for hacking, which is some impressive circular logic. Of course, doing parallel stories can be tricky. Do you imply they were standing just off-screen the entire time doing super important stuff of their own?

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Review

The story started in a forum chat with various avatars here and there, including the player. With Japan as the setting, technology has advanced and cyberspace pretty much took over here and there. Suddenly a mascot called Nabit-kun visited them out of nowhere and threatened them that it will surprise and hack them if they visit EDEN, a cyberspace created by Kamishiro Corporation. While some are afraid that they will got hacked, 3 people including the player decided to go and see it for themselves. From there we could choose the player, do you want it to be a girl or a boy. The set name for boy is Takumi CV. Matsuoka Yoshitsugu , while the girl is Ami CV.

The animation was streamed on Bandai Namco's official YouTube channel and was promoting the game's release slated for the following month. A second version of the video was posted on April 4, but contains no change in animation. Only the watermark and the still image at the end were changed.
