Also, while I like the anime enough to still watch it despite the ever decreasing quality, I think the manga's just way better. If he still keeps surviving, look at how much health he has left when he does Okay, so if you haven't seen that part in the story yet, I can understand why it might be a bit confusing.
You'll just have to do it all fast and efficiently enough If you keep being a bit too late, grinding a few levels might help. Naruto is a perfect example of an Anime with Fillers that had Character Development. Where As Bleach had Filler Arcs that in no way contributed to the main story in some capacity. And I don't watch, read or like Naruto and Bleach, so I can't draw any comparisons here, but as a rather obsessive OP fan I can tell you that the fillers in the OP anime contribute absolutely nothing to the story and have zero character development.
Of course they don't. They're fillers. They were squeezed in to buy some time for the manga to get further ahead of the anime.
They're not canon and except one they're actually all pretty silly in my opinion! And to make things worse, most of them even have tiny bits of the canon-story woven into them, to make the transition smoother, so if you're only watching the anime, it gets a bit blurry.
I've seen anime-only-watchers mistake fillers for canon and getting confused about the story And if you don't know the source material, you can't even really skip them, because of those woven-in canon bits.
