Kaiba 2008 anime

It is very reminiscent of classic anime and clearly draws upon Osamu Tezuka creator of Astro Boy , reminding me very much so of the modern adaptation of Metropolis which was based on his original story. The best way I can describe the ascethetics, textures, and physics of the Kaiba universe is a world of water balloons. These floaty, lofty-type environments fit absolutely perfectly with the character designs and is one of the most imaginative universes I have ever seen in an anime. Interestingly, Kaiba can feel oppressive without being overbearing, it can be sad without being depressing.

GX imo. The cards were super nice and the GX and original era cards complemented eachother so well back then and made it a super fun game.

Also back then the banlist didnt ban all the fun and simple cards back then, making GX combined with OG Yugioh just so enjoyable to play. So imma have to go with GX. Favorite era of Yugioh and then followed by the OG Yugioh as a close 2nd. GX also wasnt as fast paced as it was today. It did have super fast and powerful decks, but its certainly far less than what we have now.

I would go with the GX era, before Synchro. The general problem I had with Synchros very early on is that they changed the game way too much. Instead of Synchro monsters being a different way to get Monsters out, it felt like the prefered method over Fusion and Ritual Monsters.

It was kind of annoying, because GX came out that helped Fusions, but then Synchros came along and made them pointless. It was a very weird game design. It felt like, if you weren't running Synchro Monsters, then you were going to have a bad time. It didn't help that Synchro Monsters had some pretty strong effects. I know that Stardust Dragon got on my nerves when I was playing in that era.

And at the same time I feel like Unlike Pendulums and Links nowadays XYZ's are easy to figure out in terms of what they are allowed to do and what they are not allowed to do in terms of Monster Type. Tail end of the classic era was my favourite — meaning with the release of ancient sanctuary. Pure nostalgia factor — it's back when i played, and the game was simple enough for a then year-old kid to have a full grasp of the meta, even though i never had enough money, nor luck, to assemble a competitive deck.

Power creep started really climbing after that — caught the early rumblings of the synchro mechanic, and was out of the game until now — hadn't even heard of xyz and pendulum before randomly getting interested again after hearing about link summoning. I'd say the GX-early 5D's era Granted, I was just a kid back then, didn't know what the banlist was, and played by anime rules LP to start and Normal Summons in Defence Mode was legal, mostly with Duel Disks , but it was much simpler than today and never made my want to kill myself, as you just took a bunch of cards from packs, took the good ones, threw the shitty ones in your shoe box, and then played the game, whereas today the game is so focused on archetypes that you could get a pack full of cards you literally can't even use due to being locked to an archetype you don't use Also, I just dug out my old GX Duel Disk like months ago, I want to fucking use it again!

My favorite era? Back when there no "themed" or "archetyped" decks, just decks built around running a bunch of good cards. Gravekeepers were probably the only archetype in that era.

Even then, you only ran 3 Spy. I miss those times. Somewhat GX because it was the last of trying to figure out what your opponent was planning also my favorite deck cyber dragons came out. I didn't know it at the time until the middle of 5Ds error. I played from around the beginning ish , and quit toward the end of , shortly before 5ds. The impetus for me quitting was being tired of the meta. I played during the Duel Monsters era, but I didn't really play competitively until the GX era, which was my favorite.

Around the time I quit, just about everyone at my local scene was playing Monarchs, and it was overly dominant. There were even instances of the rich kids, or those who had graduated high school and had jobs, of hording cards at the local scene.

For those who didn't have a reliable stream of income, or parents willing to pour a lot of money into their teenager's hobby, you couldn't keep up. I never stopped liking the game, just the meta.

Essentially I've missed the last 8 or 9 years of the game. I still have the last deck I ever built for the game, Destiny Heroes, which was built purely as a fun deck so I would have something to play with whenever the rare occasion occurred for me to play. I last updated it I think in either or when Monster Reborn was taken off the ban list, however briefly that was.

But it was around or 11 that I got rid of everything but my Destiny Hero Deck. I made the decision recently to get back into the game, but with two rules; 1: I will not play competitively, and 2: Never buy packs.

Both of these rules are for the purpose of saving money. If I am not playing competitively, than I don't need to dump hundreds of dollars into building a top tier deck, which allows me to play decks I enjoy. And buying packs is the biggest waste of money if you are looking for specific cards. If you are just collecting, than packs are great. They're an inefficient way of finding the card you want.

The tele-dad era was probably my favourite because it was a time when there were so many deck ideas to create with the release of synchro's. I liked the original, it was much more simple, and the artwork on the cards was awesome.

Episode # 102 – Kaiba (2008)

As in all the works of Yuasa , also in Kaiba the surreal is a main theme. In this anime the viewer is thrown into a fantastic and at the same time brutal world. Society is largely divided into two classes. Below the clouds is a troubled and dangerous world where good bodies are hard to come by and real money is scarce. The series begins with a boy named Kaiba as he awakens in a ruined room. He has no memories, but he has a hole in his chest, a triangular mark on his stomach, and a pendant with a picture of an unknown girl inside. After being attacked, Kaiba escapes and, through his travels, regains his memories. In Kaiba the first thing to look out for is the great contrast between its visual realization and the themes that are dealt with in it. In fact Yuasa chooses to use, as inspiration for the aesthetic realization of Kaiba , the style of Astro Boy by Osamu Tezuka , a work designed specifically for elementary school children. However, the topics covered in Kaiba are undoubtedly mature.

Kaiba (TV)

Its story revolves around an enigmatic character named Warp and takes place in a psychedelic world mixed with a space-opera universe where the change of body, the traffic of memories, are possible. In Kaiba ' s universe, memories can be stored as information via a memory chip; when individuals die, their minds live on. This digitization of mental information allows for the transfer of one's mind to someone else's body, and the theft and manipulation of other people's memories has become the norm. Society is largely divided into two classes. In the skies are electrical storms, which cannot be passed through without losing one's memories. Above them lies the realm of the wealthy and powerful, who barter others' bodies and memories for their own enjoyment and longevity. Below the clouds is a troubled and dangerous world where good bodies are hard to come by and real money is scarce. The series begins with a man named Kaiba Warp as he awakens in a ruined room.

Welcome to a world in which memories can be transferred from body to body; old painful memories can be removed and replaced with new ones, and the poor sell.

In a world where memories exist in memory chips separate from the body, death of the body no longer means death of the soul. It is possible for memories to be viewed, altered, and transferred between bodies. These memory chips are used by the rich to obtain eternal lives in carefully selected bodies, while for the poor, selling their own bodies and conserving their souls in the chips often become the only way to earn a living. An electrolytic cloud in the sky serves as a barrier between the heavens of the fortunate and the underworld of the destitute, making this social division impregnable. One day, a man named Kaiba wakes up in an empty room with no memories, a mysterious hole in his chest, and a locket holding the picture of an unknown woman. After escaping an attack and stumbling upon a decrepit village of underworld residents, he begins his adventure across the different planets of this strange universe to find out more about his own identity and the woman he once knew.

Welcome and say hello to one of the best anime of , and along with Haibane Renmei and Hi no Tori, my favourite anime of only 12 or 13 episodes long.
