About shinsekai yori-review

Characters 9. They change as they grow up and they mature to an extent, in which, I always enjoy some character development. Sadly, the only reason this loses a 0. Art 9. All of the art styles were nicely drawn; it was just difficult to get accustomed to it since the art went back and forth from the characters looking younger to older to younger to older during the first season.

As for the second season, the art stayed consistent so it was easier to get into. I felt very lost, confused, intrigued, and interested, and the symbolism, jumping around with flash backs, monsters, and all the rainbowy colors made me feel like I was on one massive acid trip. But as the story progressed, everything became as clear as sobriety and the depth of the plot progressed deeper and deeper to the point of no return. It could convey words through facial expressions alone and dived through the waters of loneliness, separation, heart-break, love, drama, comedy, mystery, fantasy, adventure, horror, it covered nearly ever genre!

Shinsekai Yori: A Review

Like Psycho-Pass and other future flics, Shin Sekai has a fairly simple pretense. At first glance this might seem as a distracting complication to empathy with various characters and their lifestyles. A system where mental power directly computes into physical ability is a simplification of the human mind in terms of potential. These individuals could be given the attention and challenge that they need, and grow up to become the great leaders and heroes which society deserves!

The fact that SSY is an adaptation of a popular novel shows; the writing is top-notch, and each scene has a deliberate and fluid pacing. No word.

Shinsekai Yori ~ Review

This was actually my first time hearing about this anime and I was surprised to find that it came out in I read some comments about this anime and most had said that it was underrated and that anime lovers need to watch it. Well, I somewhat agree. It tells the story of the main character, Saki, and her 5 other friends. The entire anime takes place in 3 different segments that correspond to when Saki grows up. Right now, in the future, they seem to live in an Utopian world where humans are gifted with a God-like power called Cantus. The children are placed in schools that teach them how to control their powers, but when rumors start going around that there are vanishing children if they cannot control their powers well, the six try to find the truth. So, I thought that the plot was interesting and it struck out to me. I thought that the anime had so much potential. Art: I found the art very pretty and it really attracted me.

It only takes a minute to sign up. Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search. WIthout spoiling the actual manga story, can someone elaborate if this is a different story or not? SeventhStyle's review quoted in Dimitri mx's answer touches on the major issue with the Shinsekai Yori manga.

This post is written by Gilimandra. It begins with a sort of psychic calamity befalls Japan.

Hi there, and welcome to another blog! The story takes place in Japan a thousand years from the present in a utopia where a portion of the population retains a special power called psychokinesis. From the beginning, we follow a group of five children as they grow up in the anime and see how they develop within a community bounded by strict rules and deal with the decisions they make that alter the course of their lives and the entire society they live in. The main characters start off as children and by the end of the anime, they are adults, with the proper illustration of character development. With an anime that has twenty-five episodes, you would think it would not be enough time for proper character development from children to adults. However, Shinsekai Yori pulls this off very smoothly, which is evidently seen with Saki and Satoru, which even applies to the supporting characters as well.

So they are forced to split up: Kiroumaru and Satoru end up leading the enemy away, while Saki and Innui must return to the surface to grab the submarine and head upstream. While going back to the surface, Innui reveals to Saki that he feels Kiroumaru is acting suspiciously, and that he may just be leading them all into a trap. Unfortunately, it is now night time and thus the Ragworms that roam the waters are awake. Saki and Innui barely missed being killed by one, before they take the sub and head back into the caverns below Tokyo. After suffering a particularly strong hallucination or is it? Since it seems Satoru and Kiroumaru are holed up somewhere, Saki and Innui have to push on ahead alone. Eventually, they must also abandon the sub because of some very narrow passageways. Another Ragworm attacks them at this time, and only Saki manages to escape.

Shinsekai Yori Anime Vs Manga

Because to me, this anime has to be one of the most beautifully written, executed and played out stories that has ever been written. The story is set in a world years into the future; an age where humans are living in a utopia of peace and tranquility. After a freak accident, the five learn the true history of their world — a bloody history of exclusion and over-powerment. As humanity descends into a brink of insanity, the five must fight through a collapsing world, while holding the truth of their world and the fate of all humanity on their shoulders.

We are both ex IB program students hailing from the island country of Singapore who love watching anime and being weebs. We had the idea of an anime blog while we were doing the IB program, and hope to continue it for as long as our passion carries us. GaryMuffuginOak loves a good romance drama, but isn't very picky about genres. Huge fan of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. First anime was D-Frag. SomDude enjoys a good rom-com, but also a big fan of action genres.

Many works of fiction have dabbled this subject matter numerous times, with some succeeding and others failing.

I had recently come off of a stream of anime that I had dropped part of the way through, and I wanted to find something that would entertain me the whole way through. I decided to watch Shinsekai Yori on a whim, and I hoped it would be interesting enough for me not to drop it. Watching this anime was uncomfortable. It was depressing. It was dark. And it was amazing. I've always been a fan of post-apocalyptic stories, and the world of Shinsekai Yori is very much that.

Five students with supernatural powers live in a world that is set in the far distant future. They come to realize that the world is not as it seems and begin to slowly learn the chilling truths about their village, the greater world around them, and each other that will change their lives forever. The director has been involved in a lot, but this seemed to be his directorial debut as the primary director for a series.
