The ExWire of True Cross Academy are beset with shock and fear in the aftermath of discovering that one of their own classmates, Rin Okumura, is the son of Satan. But for the moment, they have more pressing concerns than that of Rin's parentage: the left eye of the Impure King, a powerful demon, has been stolen from the academy's Deep Keep. After an attempt is made to steal the right eye in Kyoto as well, Rin and the other ExWires are sent to investigate the mystery behind the Impure King and the ultimate goal of the thief. While this mission has them cooperating for the time being, Rin has never felt more distant from his fellow exorcists.

Rin Okumura, who was exposed as the son of Satan by Amaimon's attack, has been placed by the Order of the True Cross under the supervision of Shura Kirigakure. While he practices manipulating his blue flames, they learn of the theft of a dangerous item. Strange Bedfellows. Rin is dispatched as part of the reinforcement unit to the Kyoto field office, which guards the hiding place of the Right Eye of the Impure King.
Suspicion Will Raise Bogies. As Bon, Konekomaru and Shiemi try to deal with their responses to recent events, Yaozo summons the family heads of the Myoda sect. As they discuss the incident with the Right Eye, the group begins to question the mysterious actions of Head Priest Tatsuma.
Act of Treachery. Who is betraying the Myoda sect? Without high priest Tatsuma in attendance, the general meeting falls into chaos and ends without a conclusion.
As Suguro resolves to find and question his father, he witnesses someone sneaking into the Kyoto field office…. Mysterious Connections. Although the traitor was revealed, the Right Eye of the Impure King has been stolen. While confronting Ryuji, Rin loses control of his blue flames in front of the gathered exorcists.
In all of the commotion, Tatsuma slips Shura a letter addressed to Rin. A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. Like a Fire Burning Bright. The Impure King has been revived! In his letter, Tatsuma asks Rin to use the Koma sword to fight, but will that even be possible?
And to make matters worse, Mephisto suddenly appears with the news that Rin has been sentenced to death! From Father to Son. Rin leaves with the other students to find Tatsuma. Yukio is on the front lines, unaware his brother has left his cell, when he notices something strange….
Through Thick and Thin. Meanwhile, Suguro has inherited the Gouha-en, and with it, he and Rin head to the sporangium. Unbowed and Unbroken. The sporangium has finally burst, revealing the Impure King. Assaulted by the miasma, Suguro barely maintains the barrier. And every passing moment brings him closer to his limit.
Shine Bright as the Sun. Rin finally manages to draw the demon sword. Candid and Open. Now that the incidents relating to the Impure King have been concluded, those affected are moving on.

I think the show is a solid 4 high quality, but drags at times. I loved it! I got into Anima about a year ago and this series is one of my top 5.
I hope! This show is awesome! I'm glad they picked up from the Kyoto Arch. I didn't like how they ended the first season, and thought the manga went with a better story so I was really glad to hear they picked up one of the manga's arches! Hope they make more! Koichi Hatsumi replaced Tensai Okamura as director of the series. After his secret is exposed, Rin takes part in a special mission alongside Shura and Yukio to retrieve the "Left Eye of the Impure King", a demon relic that was stolen from the True Cross Academy's vault. In the occasion, they fail to retrieve it, but discover that the culprit is Saburota Todo, one of the exorcists in charge of the vault, that was corrupted upon being possessed by a demon.

Sure, there are some outliers, but Blue Exorcist is in rare company. Fans of the manga will be familiar with its source material, the Kyoto Impure King arc, but anime-only viewers might find themselves a little confused as the first episode begins. Outside of the more faithful adherence to the manga, though, this A-1 Pictures production is as solid as ever.
