In the animation, the mind games of the lead characters, which goes completely against the common theme of "the lead character making efforts and guiding his team to victory" of traditional baseball manga, unfolds with the same sense of tension as the original manga. Hiromichi Kojima of the "Saikyo Saitama Lycaons" is a skilled baseball player, but has not won a single game and is known as the "unlucky batting genius". Kojima knows that he is missing something in order to win. To search for what he is missing, he works hard at a voluntary training camp in Okinawa.

In the beginning he was part of a gambling game based on baseball called 'One Outs'. After losing a game of One Outs to the cleanup batter for the Lycaons , Hiromichi Kojima , he becomes the star pitcher for the team. Tokuchi is a relatively tall, skinny man, with a somewhat muscular build. He has medium length blonde hair that is always shown to be spiked upwards. He has small, dark eyes with small bags under them.

Hiromichi Kojima
The Saitama Lycaons are the weakest team in the Japanese league. The next day, Kojima arrives to avenge his teammates and meets Toa Tokuchi, a year-old who appears to have no special pitching skills, but defeats Kojima easily and causes him to enter seclusion to re-evaluate himself as a professional player. This time, Tokuchi experiences his very first loss and offers Kojima his right arm to have it broken. Instead, Kojima tells him he never intended to break it, and asks Tokuchi to join the Lycaons and use his unique pitching ability to take the Lycaons to the championship. Soon, Tokuchi meets Saikawa, the greedy owner of the Lycaons who only cares about the team making a profit.
Completed the One Outs Anime Series
I finished watching the One Outs anime series today. One Outs is a sports genre anime about a pitcher named Tokuchi Toua. He was found and recruited to the Saikyou Saitama Lycaons by Japanese batting legend Kojima Hiromichi and is not your standard pitcher. Discovered during a game of One Outs, a betting game that pits a pitcher against a batter in a battle of wits, Tokuchi mixes his gambling proficiency, his ability to intimidate and read other players, and his strategic expertise to bring the Lycaons out of their long slump. My personal interest in this show is how Tokuchi is extremely-creative in how he manipulates everything and everyone to his advantage. The owner believes that the contract will result in Tokuchi paying him millions of Yen each game, but he is quickly frustrated when Tokuchi sends him a bill of million Yen after the first game he pitches in. There are currently 25 episodes, which is just half of the story at best.
