Shinsekai yori worth watching

Anyway, for a brief list in a very rough order of what I consider best, with stuff near the bottom of the list still being at the very least "Kinda decent". I strongly apologize for not including links and some of the descriptions being vague, but that's halfway intentional there are better synopses and reviews out there and halfway because this already took damn ages. Many of the shows on the list have multiple seasons, extra OVAs, or movies, I'm leaving finding those as an exercise for the reader. I have also thought about mentioning several shows I have not watched yet that I keep my eye on, but well-rated anime that sounds promising so often turns out to be pretty crappy anyway, that I'll not take the risk.

I've tried to watch it before for about 15 eps, and it was a let down for me i have big expectation from it with its high rating.

I dropped it, but everyone says that it was so great. Maybe i'll give it another try, any thoughts of this series anyone?

Its all about episodes 17 till the end. Finish it. For me all anime is anime original. I dont read manga, light novels, visual novels, etc. Yes, finish it. For me it was an exponential growth. If you didn't like it after 15 episodes then just don't bother with it and move on. For clarification though, what were your problems with the series? But you'll still take damage! I think it's good, just not my cup of tea. The best of its kind man, seriously But to think that you dont get hooked after 15 episodes, the anime might not be for you It annoyed the hell out of me.

But I've seen worse. Haruhi ism It's fun, isn't it? Twitter and it's consequences had been a disaster for the human race. Honestly, I don't know what to think about this show In a way, I like the themes and subjets importance of education, bonobo society, characters are not black or white but in the other side, I'm not a big fan of this bloody orgy who looks nearly like in Elfen Lied and the ending gives me a huge bad taste in my mouth Queerats look to be punished to their revolt and are still slaves of humans, even despite they know what they really are.

Plus, Squealer Trial is absolute disgusting. I really felt bad to be human at this moment I also tired watching it, twice actually, but dropped it both times.

If an anime can't capture your interest within 10 episodes, it doesn't really matter how "great" it gets in the last ones.

I wouldn't recommend to continue watching it if it hasn't impressed you by now. Its one of the best imo and if you already watched that much might as well finish it but if you are not enjoying it at all definitely drop. It's "good" but also incredibly boring. It's kind of like an anime documentary. Never watched it but everyone says it's "deep". Definitely very good, It's one the most absorbing anime I have watched to be honest, not boring for a second and the finale was great but tbh I feel it had some problems, the time leaps were weird.

It is a show you must finish to appreciate, really. I personally dropped it like 5 times, only to regret doing so after finishing. It's good, but would have been better if I cared about any of the characters. The story and world building make up for it in part, though. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it? Is it better than Breaking Bad?

Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it? Has it caused a very entertaining shitstorm on MAL? Is it actually good? Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant It's not for everyone.

I couldn't relate with the characters, and found the story incredibly boring. Others could relate with the characters, and found the story very enthralling. Don't try to force yourself to like it. If you don't like it, it probably just isn't your type of series. Of course, it's one of the best animes made in recent years, Satoru s2. It's good, but never go in with too high expectations. You'll never be satisfied. So it's like steins;gate , it has a very slow start but it will be great later right?

I'll give it a try then. I liked it way b4 episode 15, it just might not be your thing. Is good, but if you didn't enjoy the show until episode 15, i don't see how can you enjoy the rest. Chuunichan said: I think it's good, just not my cup of tea.

It just gets further along with the story after the first Those are to build up the plot. I'm sure you'll love the horrificness of the last episodes. I think it could have been one of the greats but it feels too "sluggish" often and some of the monster designs looked really lame and zapped the shows potential.

It's still worth seeing despite of those things but it could have been so much better. It is one of my all time favorite anime, it's so involving. Even the soundtrack gives it such an atmospheric feel. IF you can't handle the build up of the background of the shows universe then I agree the show isn't for you, but if you can get past that, finishing the show is absolutely rewarding.

I just wish they released an OVA or something to show what happened after the end of the show, I'm just curious, they ended it perfect but I always crave more from shows I truly enjoy. Yes, you will think that's masterpiece if you look each episode carefully. I've finished the show now, it was pretty good But i dont like it so much. DatRandomDude said: i know that feel edwin, i stopped after episode 8, i felt like i was forcing myself to watch it.

So 1 year later. Did you drop, carry it on and if you did how was it. This anime series is pretty good. A must watch! It's pretty good. Every episodes makes you feel that your into there world. OT : If you are not enjoying it till episode 15 then there is no point in watching it further. Do not watch it just for the sake of completion because everyone said so, I don't think if you are not enjoying right now you will enjoy it after episode 17 or 20 or any other episode number.

If you had listed what were your problems with the show then it would've been different case. Imaishi Offline Joined: Sep Posts:

Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World) - Eps. 1-5

Shin Sekai Yori Also known as From the New World is a fantastic anime that little people know about and it deserves to be more popular. Shin Sekai Yori takes place years in the future, in a world where everyone can use telepathy. Their society is the product of this new ability. The story follows the lives of a group of children as they grow up and learn about the world they were born into and the dark secrets it holds. In fact, we follow their lives and progression from the age of 12 to their late twenties. The greatest part of Shin Sekai Yori though is the world that it has developed, and the puzzle that the children and viewer piece together at the same time as they discover the darkness within this new society.

Despite his really slow rythm, it is indubitably worth it. With an award-winning source material, Shin Sekai Yori was a series that came in with high.

Shinsekai Yori Review

The shows complex dystopian future with a rivalry between psychic-powered humans and intelligent rats that humans use as servants. The focus on Saki and her coming of age story is one of the best-written shows to come out in recent memory. Even though I recommended it last week, it is certainly worth a second recommendation, for a couple of reasons. The first is an equally as interesting dystopian future about a world where crime is judged by a living computer, and everyone is assigned a number that determines their level of threat to society. The second is the cast of interesting characters, especially in the main character Kogami and the villain. Weird is a word that I find can be a bit generic when trying to describe a show to somebody, but I honestly think it applies here. Shin Sekai Yori has a lot of that same weirdness, except it makes sense within the context and scope of the story. Flamenco, meanwhile, makes unprompted cuts into different arcs with very little explanation to back it up. And yet, it works. If there was ever a show that needed more attention, other than Shin Sekai Yori, it would be Steins;Gate.

A lot of people love a good mystery. Anime and mystery is a bit of a mixed bag and I will admit my choices of favourite mysteries are based entirely on my own enjoyment of the story as a whole. I loved the first arc and first mystery but found everything after that a little less satisfying. The Promised Neverland I really enjoyed but not for the mystery elements, same for something like Erased. Number 5: Sagrada Reset.

Shin Sekai Yori – The Lessons of the Bonobos (Countdown to Halloween)

Many works of fiction have dabbled this subject matter numerous times, with some succeeding and others failing. Unfortunately for Shinsekai Yori, it falls into the latter, but not entirely. Their journey in discovering the history of human civilization eventually transpired into pure dystopia. It starts exceptionally well with building up these characters that are all very unique and distinguishable from each other. For instance, one of the most controversial things about the show was the relationship between kids of the same sex. Because of this, one might feel inclined to give it a pass. But for me, the time skips cannot forgive.

I want to apologize. I want to thank Rei for clarifying this for me. We focused on the characters at school, and we get a little bit of a better understanding of what kind of world they live in. Most of the episode focused on a competition. The competition ends in a draw due to a member of the other team cheating.

Does this make it any less fearsome or threatening? Absolutely not, as we finally feel how desperate the situation is getting — and boy, is it getting desperate.

It turned out none of them were legit, but boy did they sound impressive in context- like cantus actually originated from a source present in the real world. It gave the ability a touch of realism, as though SSY is actually a glimpse into our future. A human killed other humans!? For me this posed the question: the children were living in such blissful ignorance of the reality of rogue elements being removed without hesitation, of potential murder, if I were in their shoes, would I have regretted learning the truth? Like, I would much rather take the blue pill and stay plugged into the Matrix than face an excruciatingly painful reality… Hark at me getting all philosophical from a single line! This is a topic which also poses interesting questions, e.

Five students with supernatural powers live in a world that is set in the far distant future. They come to realize that the world is not as it seems and begin to slowly learn the chilling truths about their village, the greater world around them, and each other that will change their lives forever. The director has been involved in a lot, but this seemed to be his directorial debut as the primary director for a series.
