Last week, I wrote a bit about some of the best animation of the year. But not long after I wrote that list, a few friends of mine and some commenters! It got very little promotion, and passed most people by. But it was short—just 10 eleven-minute episodes long—and the people who brought it to my attention tend to have very good taste, so I decided to watch the whole miniseries in one sitting. At first, Over the Garden Wall appears to be a story about two brothers lost in a strange and mysterious woods.

Votes: 1, Wirt and Greg go on a lighthearted romp aboard the Frogland Ferry as they approach Adelaide of the Pasture. Wirt meets Lorna, a young woman forced to do housework by an odious witch with a magic bell. Beatrice is left out in the rain with a brainless horse while Wirt and Greg must ask for directions in a lively colonial tavern called "The Dark Lantern. A bluebird named Beatrice offers to guide Wirt and Greg to Adelaide of the Pasture the good woman of the woods and help them get home.

Is millionaire Quincy Endicott's sprawling mansion haunted by a beautiful ghost, or is the tea baron going mad? While Wirt and Greg lay down to rest, they're drawn into a dreamworld of cherubs, flowers, and clouds.

Wirt, Greg, and Beatrice get all mixed up in the musical antics of a schoolhouse of animals. Making viral TV: How “Too Many Cooks” and "Over the Garden Wall" work their hypnotic magic

In order to get Greg to stop singing, Beatrice tries to crush his indefatigable optimism. So when the trio stumble across a small school in the middle of the forest where a young woman named Miss Langtree is trying to teach a class of blank eyed animals to read, he joins the class just to spite Beatrice. When the gorilla attacks Greg and the truant critters they run into the schoolhouse just in time for lunch. The animals are being served bland mashed potatoes so Greg decides to mix things up by pouring mollases on their food. Before you know it all the animals are playing instruments and having a grand old time. But then Mr. Langtree says that the school should only be teaching animals to count and spell and confiscates all the instruments like a Tory education minister. The trio sneak out of the schoolhouse in the middle of the night to continue their journey, and come across Mr Langtree sleeping rough in the forest. They overhear him saying to himself that, what with Jimmy Brown having run off and the whole gorilla situation the school is facing bankruptcy and that he has to sell the instruments just to keep its doors open. The next day, Mr Langtree wakes and is horrified to find the instruments are gone.

The blog has been around for over two years and currently has entries. This episode Cartoon Network miniseries depicts the narrative of two brothers trekking into The Unknown, a deep and dark forest, and the amusing, spooky, and strange experiences they have along the way. The series has established a cult following, and many people watch it every year during the fall season. The 10 episodes are all under ten minutes long, yet they cram a lot of character into that little period of time. Each episode is distinct, and I was interested by the prospect of attempting to rate them all. Wirt and Greg ostensibly assist Quincy Endicott, an elderly man, in investigating his impossibly large mansion in search of a feminine specter who haunts the halls; Beatrice, meanwhile, is attempting to steal two pennies from Quicy in order to pay Adelaide, who will supposedly assist the boys in getting home.
