Disney movies might technically be made for kids , but let's be real: There's nothing better than sitting down with a bowl of popcorn and belting out "Hakuna Matata" on a Friday night. But there are so many that it's nearly impossible to pick just one , so start with this list. Magic carpets, mysteriously blue genies, sarcastic parrots, and sinister dudes named Jafar hellbent on ruling Agrabah — what more could you possibly want from a Disney movie? Oh and the music will be stuck in your head all day too. Peter Pan is a true gem of a childhood classic about kids who simply want to stay kids forever, chill in a mermaid lagoon, fight pirates, and avoid ticking alligators.

15 Disney Movies With the Worst Reviews on Rotten Tomatoes

There are loads of films and original series to enjoy, but we've got a soft spot for reliving our favorite Saturday morning cartoons. From venturing to the dark corners of Gopher's tunnels to ascending to the clouds to repair a giant "cloud machine," Pooh's adventures have gone beyond the pages of his book.

What puts the bear's "new adventures" on our list is the surprising amount of peril the friends face in the series. The words Pooh and danger rarely go together, but we see the cuddy characters in some pretty intense scenarios. Nothing life-threatening, but enough to ignite a surprising sense of adventure. We're not talking about the delicious, fruity, candy we've so often chomped on, we're talking about a clan of magical bears who explore a medieval fantasy world.

Like the previously mentioned entry, the cast might be cute and cuddly, but the adventures are still just as exciting as your typical fantasy quest can get. Along with their human friend, Cavin, the bears of Gummi glen face off against the evil forces of Duke Igthorn, ogres, trolls, witches, and more in the kingdom of Dunwin.

If you've got an affinity for fantasy, cute anthropomorphic characters, or just pure '90s nostalgia, Adventures of the Gummi Bears is a good place to start.

Speaking of '90s nostalgia, who doesn't need more Timon and Pumbaa in their lives? Before Anna and Elsa took over the Disney mainstream, these two were Disney's dynamic duo for almost over a decade. Seeing that The Lion King was Disney's most successful animated feature at the time, it would be stupid not to give it a spinoff show. If the title didn't give it away, Timon and Pumbaa featured the titular characters getting into various comedic antics in and out of the jungle.

Not exactly as deep and complex as the lion-led masterpiece, but definitely a great way to kill time on a Saturday morning. What's a Saturday morning line-up without a superhero or two? Though there's only one season of the show currently available, it does contain most of the show's best episodes like "Sting of the Scorpion" and "The Alien Costume.

From the design of the characters to the show's quick-fire pacing, it really does feel like a comic book come to life. We're even treated to some of Spidey's famous one-liners and tingly spider-sense. And with special appearances from the X-men and Avengers, what more could we need?

Continuing with our superhero motif, let's talk about the most modern entry on our list, Big Hero 6: The Series. Everyone needs more Baymax, we know it and you know it, so why not give the big marshmallow his own show? For those not in the know, the series picks up from where the film left off, furthering the adventures of the Big Hero 6 team.

They take on evil villains, deal with college life, and most importantly, let Baymax steal our hearts once more. After visiting the neon streets of San Fransokyo, let's crash on the couch with our favorite sitcom starring everyone's favorite dippy dog, Goofy. Truly a Saturday morning classic for us seasoned Disney buffs. We're willing to admit that the show does show its age and does get a little, for lack of a better word, goofy at times, but it still has that same heart and warmth we've come to expect from Disney's prime.

Put this on if you're ever in need of a good laugh. If you've not followed the Rescue Rangers on at least one of their zany adventures, you're truly depriving yourself of one of Disney's best series. No crime's too big and no case is too small for the Rescue Rangers Detective agency.

We've seen the rangers foil mad scientists, pirate rats, and the fiendish mobster Fat Cat dozens of times, and a few dozen more won't hurt us either. Definitely check this one out if you like a little suspense with your cartoon comedy. We've already mentioned one Marvel property on our list, but the X-Men series definitely deserves a higher billing.

Sorry, Spidey, but this gem from the comic book giant wins our hearts because it pulled the right punches. If you're a fan of the comics, the X-Men, or Marvel in general, this series is practically mandatory.

The show features all our favorite X-Men and classic and poignant storylines pulled straight from the comic panels. The show had action, humor, and mature messages even younger viewers could grasp, just like the comics that inspired the series. Fire up the Danger Room, Professor. We're ready for another adventure. If ever there was a more criminally underrated series to ever come out of Disney animation, it was Gargoyles.

Statues by day and heroes by night, Goliath and his crew of fellow gargoyles protect New York City from the forces of darkness. There are many great reasons to love this show, but it's one of those adventures that's better if you just watch for yourselves. Take our word for it, you won't be disappointed. Catchy theme song, check. Loveable characters, check. Thrilling adventures with laughs galore, check-check-check!

Not ponytails or cottontails, it's Ducktales woo-hoo and this show is the absolute epitome of the perfect Disney Saturday morning cartoon.

With its colorful cast, brilliant writing, and expeditions to the far corners of the world with Scrooge McDuck, how can we not love it? From searching for treasure to exploring treacherous territories, there's a reason many fans consider this Disney's best animated series, and that's why it earns our top spot for Saturday morning glory.
