Barakamon love moments

Sometimes it can feel like anime - and pop culture, in general - focuses way too hard on romance. Though some of the best anime ever made focus partially or completely on matters of the heart, and there's nothing inherently wrong with these themes, they just aren't what everyone wants to see all the time. Whether you feel like the excessive focus on romance takes away from the plot elements that do interest you, can't get into the canon pairings that dominate your favorite shows, or just straight up don't want to see this kind of content, sometimes you want to watch anime with no romance. It's nearly impossible to find anime with no romance whatsoever since it pops up in everything from kids' shows to horror. Still, there are plenty of shows that make minimal or no use of romantic tropes.

This is rough, lol. Two very different genres and one is much more popular than the other. Anyways, since I nominated it, here's a small cheer for Barakamon , a personal favourite that I think deserves more attention :. Spoiler: The next 2 sad panels from the manga. Last edited: Jul 22, I've only ever watched the anime and really enjoyed it but I've heard the manga for Barakamon is even better so it gets my vote! No hesitation, Barakamon!! PS: Naru is too precious for this world. Great pick, and great campaign Haji, , but this round my vote is going for Ft, it might be nostalgia, but i really have great memories even tho its not perfect, nothing is, i did enjoy the series, and had a lot of fun reading and watching it, back then, especially the 1st part up to tenrou.

Erinyes said:. Loved your Totsukuni no Shojo campaign btw - good luck! Spoiler fun moments. It depends too on the lenght of the story, sure a chaps manga and a 50 chaps manga dont impact the same way. Mashima managed to create interesting characters, most of them at least main ones have a deep background for exple Erza has one of the best and sad backstory.

As I have tell you in my non spoiler barakamon review post about the anime you can check that out. Because he hit an old man in an award ceremony. After arriving to this island Handa gets a house which was given rent to him by the village chief. We will talk about both the anime and and after that continue to the manga from chapter 52 where the anime ends. The manga has total chapters and 18 volumes. It is a slice of life anime, so it shows the daily life activities of the mc.

Now, those that have been with me since the beginning know I love myself a good slice of Life. Especially when they're extremely well done.

Manga Review: Barakamon Vol. 16

Barakamon has been a fun and heartwarming journey of laughter and awws. As part of the adorable cast, we have Tama — the fujoshi in denial! In this episode, Sensei overworked and found himself in a hospital with the nurse threatening him with a suppository treatment. Or perhaps she was just having a fujoshi moment by herself,. Are the gods testing her will?! During the mochi hiroi event which happened in the same episode, her fujoshi imaginations were put to the test again, when she witnesses an imo very normal exchange between Hiro and Sensei. Sensei got his mochi taken from him by Hiro and that was about it, what got her fujoshi sensor ringing?

Barakamon | Best Slice of Life?

I wasn't really expecting to like Barakamon as much as I do - in fact, it wasn't initially on my radar at all. Anime slice of life doesn't tend to connect with me, largely because I don't feel like they're generally reflective of any actual life I could imagine. But the greater part of art is execution, and so far, Barakamon 's stellar execution has made it one of my favorite shows of the season. Slice of life shows tend to unsurprisingly hang on their characters - if a show is more focused on spending time with people than rushing through a strict narrative, they've gotta be people you'd want to spend time with.

Cheeky Kid has been watching anime and reading manga for as long as he can remember. Doing so takes him to different worlds.

After losing his temper on a critic, renowned calligraphy artist Sieshuu Handa is exiled to the Goto Islands by his father for a period of self-reflection. There he seeks to find new inspiration for his art, but finds that his neighbors and some neighborhood kids keep getting in his way. Soothing and unexpectedly hilarious, Barakamon teaches watchers to treasure the smaller moments in life. If you are looking for anime recommendations like Barakamon, then head on down below. Daikichi Kawachi is a year-old bachelor with a decent job, but no purpose in his life.

Barakamon – 01

Did anyone watch Barakamon for the calligraphy? I doubt so. But it turned out brilliant anyway. Barakamon is a 12 episode long anime about an eccentric calligrapher who gets sent to an island to repent for his impulsiveness. It is happens to have the highest score on MyAnimeList and I believe that is for a reason. Barakamon is fresh, cute and delivers the feels when it needs to.

Amongst this we get some more quirky slice of life moments where Naru distracts him from his work. Naru takes a look at his calligraphy and.

How my anxiety led me back to watching Barakamon, a slice of life anime about calligraphy

In the winter season, we were shocked to see two shows release that reminded us of the style of Barakamon. Gakuen Babysitters and Mitsuboshi Colors have a central focus on the children rather than just the adults or teens. Down below we have summarized both shows—all while avoiding spoilers of course—and have made some comparisons.

Hey there minna-san! He needs to be ready for the Naruka Exhibition!! This is a great callback to so many episodes ago. Many moments during the previous episodes were also spent on Handa staring at the calendar, too! The Naruka Exhibition really makes the story move along… after all, there is a deadline to think about…. Poor Sensei!

Log in. Top Bottom.

Barakamon is an easily endearing show. One that connects with how many of us feel, brimming with self-doubt and constantly trying to get in touch with why we do what we do. Barakamon follows Handa Seishuu, a young calligrapher who finds himself on a rural Japanese island trying to rediscover his passion for calligraphy. Along this journey he meets an energetic little girl named Naru Kotoishi. Together with the other free spirits of the island, Naru helps Handa discover his creative identity, and what it means to value the people around him.

Seishuu Handa is an up-and-coming calligrapher: young, handsome, talented, and unfortunately, a narcissist to boot. When a veteran labels his award-winning piece as "unoriginal," Seishuu quickly loses his cool with severe repercussions. As punishment, and also in order to aid him in self-reflection, Seishuu's father exiles him to the Goto Islands, far from the comfortable Tokyo lifestyle the temperamental artist is used to.
