Disney+'s X-Men Animated Series Just Got Some Of The Best News Possible
New to Shacknews? Signup for a Free Account. We all probably know full well how the s intro in the States went. What I didn't know is that the Japanese versions were freaking cool and went hard to the paint on both visuals and music. I don't know if I favor it over the US version, but it's pretty dang close. I mean, look at that section with Wolverine and Omega Red going at eachother up the skyscapers and then flying out in front of the moon. It's not without schlock and laughs.
The second opening is really good too, but there's a part in it that just looks funny and awkward to me. Jean Grey and Cyclops are back to back on a cliffside, and also Wolverine is there and looks non-plussed to be in the scene. This might just be me, but that scene has big "my best friend couple got in a fight and won't talk to each other, but they're also my ride home from the bar and I can't afford to get pulled over again" energy. In any case, these intros are freaking great and a welcome addition to my stroll down memory lane of yesteryear cartoon nostalgia.
If you hadn't seen these before, hope you enjoy. Sidenote: I miss good X-Men stuff. Thank goodness Insomniac is bringing Wolverine back, at least. Did you ever see the Japanese intro for the s X-Men cartoon? Huh, thanks for linking. The US one is I think still catchier, but that's solid and surprisingly over the top. Or maybe not surprisingly. The commercial bumpers are also solid.

X-Men animated series continuation coming to Disney Plus
You know thing's aren't looking good when even the director of New Mutants says : "You can only go up after Dark Phoenix. It seems then that the search for the perfect X-Men adaptation continues, except fans already know this particular search actually ended in the mid-'90s, years before Hollywood finally saw franchise potential in Marvel 's merry band of mutants. Despite a number of setbacks and delays, the show went on to last for five seasons, transforming every kid's Saturday morning with what's indisputably the best theme song of all time. Da na na naaaa na na, da na na — you know the one. While some of the early animation hasn't aged quite as well as we remember, these 76 episodes of cartoon gold remain superior to any big-screen effort that's been released since. No offence, Logan. Beyond those snazzy costumes and that theme tune, the reason why this X-Men series in particular still works so well is because the show is interested in its characters above all else. Mutants aren't technically human, but the writers invested heavily in their humanity nonetheless. Just like when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby first deconstructed the superhero trope with flaws back in the '60s, the X-Men animated series continued this tradition in ways that the films have overlooked all too often since. In the cartoon, everyone from Cyclops and Storm to Rogue and Beast all battle their own inner demons, be it a fear of their own powers or fear of what others might think.

More details about the animated series have been published at TheWrap. It will include several cast members from the original show coming back to reprise their voice roles along with others stepping into new roles. Given the look of the logo, it's presumed that the new series will use a similar art style as well. Grey , Christopher Britton Mr. Jake Castorena is supervising director with Charley Feldman a supervising producer. This news follows previous claims from Houston that he was working hard on getting a revival of the 90s cartoon developed.

It's not exact, but it's pretty darn close, and it's pretty flipping fantastic. Singer looks more interested than ever in some of the brighter colors and tones that "X-Men" fans know and love outside of the movies. In fact, if he's looking for inspiration, there are a lot of awesome aspects from the '90s cartoon to consider, beyond visual cues. Here's some of the ways we'd love to see the cartoon impact Singer's "Apocalypse":. No disrespect toward James Marsden intended, but we haven't seen Cyclops in live-action.
