There are no cute girls doing cute things or life-changing friendships in this seinen, but there is plenty of dark comedy at the expense of the bratty main characters. Middle schoolers are scary. Chiyo musters the courage to confess her feelings to the oblivious Nozaki, but it comes out wrong. The teenager turns out to be a well-known shoujo mangaka who works under the pseudonym Yumeno Sakiko.
To get closer to Nozaki, Chiyo starts working as one of his manga assistants. This laugh-a-minute show thrives on the great dynamic between the main protagonists, breezy slapstick, and clever digs at the well-worn shoujo tropes.
Satan enters another dimension while fleeing a losing battle on the continent of Ente Isla and ends up in modern-day Tokyo. With no magic to return, he must make a living before attempting to rule the world once more. So the Demon Lord disguises himself as a human and begins working at the fast-food restaurant MgRonalds. The Devil Is a Part-Timer scores some big laughs with its reverse-isekai premise of the Master of Evil getting trapped on Earth , stripped of all his powers.
With only thirteen short episodes , this lighthearted fish-out-of-water story from White Fox studio is well worth a weekend binge. Laughs come hard and fast in this story of a teenage delinquent with more brawn than brains raising a powerful demon child who enjoys wreaking havoc.
Kaguya-sama hits both the funny bone and the heart with a sneaky left hook, evoking those all-too-familiar teenage feels and leaving you smiling from ear to ear.
Dandy, an alien bounty hunter, travels the cosmos with his companions, the sentient vacuum QT, and feline alien Meow, aboard the Aloha Oe starship. But their bounty hunts constantly go wrong, leading to bizarre adventures. No important plot point carries over from episode to episode, allowing each one to stand on its own in a world where anything is possible. The hilarious but fanservice-heavy stories range from musicals to romance, but it all comes down to a dandy guy living his best life in space.
After hitting a senior who branded his art generic, Handa, a neurotic calligrapher, retreats to the small Goto Island for self-reflection. If you like your comedies out-there, few entries on this list are better suited than this oddly compelling show.
