Abbott and Hockey more Prince John than Robin Hood

Just the animation. And not including the many many straight-to-video releases. For the most part, straight-to-video sequels will be aimed at the same age that the original was. Age ratings are according to Commonsense Media , with the occasional intervention from me. Their ratings are good, if perhaps a little conservative, ie. Margaret White Apr 14, Kim Apr 14, It was released theatrically in with live action parts about a fellow visiting the Disney studios, etc.

I just looked and see that it is included on a Disney collection called Disney Animation Collection vol. Lori Feb 28, Kim Mar 03, Thanks for reminding me! Kim Apr 09, Chris Mar 24, Excellent resource, thanks for sharing.

Obviously so much depends on how easily your kid s scare, and what it is that scares them. Our daughter was never usually bothered by bits of animated violence, provided it was either cartoonish, or did not result in death. Totally unnecessary, and ruins the film for younger viewers, without really adding anything to the film. Our daughter is now 7 and still is not ready to watch this one for that reason. Thanks again, great resource! Kim Mar 31, Thanks Chris, for your comment.

My plan for my movie reviews has always been to give as much specific info on scenes as possible so that parents can make their own judgements. Thanks again for visiting my site! Amjad Hussain Jul 18, Hi, Kim I just want to acknowledge you for this great work you have done for parents. It really simplifies what they can show to their kids. Thank you. Sierra Tomlinson Feb 03, Kim, this list is great!!

I have been trying to find something like this. I am a huge Disney fan and I cannot wait until my son enjoys these movies also!! He is only 2 and I am trying to figure out what to start out with.

Seeing that your list only starts at 3, I guess I just have to wait. He does love Mickey Mouse Club though!! Kim Mar 10, Hi Sierra! Thanks, I hope this list helps you pick out some good movies. But you can always show bits of movies, like for example just the animated part of Mary Poppins when they jump into the chalk drawing. Otherwise look for shorter programs, good TV shows etc. Thanks for visiting my website!

Michele May 12, Kim Aug 30, Thanks for visiting! This helps out tremendously. Single dad with toddler. Kim Nov 24, Glad to help! Apart from Disney picks — and Winnie is fantastic, my daughter was OBSESSED with that movie around age 2 and 3 — there are also movie spinoffs from preschool tv shows that are aimed precisely at preschoolers.

The Little Bear Movie was a hit at our house. Thanks for checking out my blog and happy movie night! Nade May 05, Hi Kim, What an amazing resource! We used to work for Disney so have all the films but have waited patiently for our little one to get started with Disney. Our son is 3 and has gone through all the ones listed already!

Loves them all! Many thanks! Kim May 24, When I find some time I will try to update that list with the newer movies. You might try commonsense. Rebecca Jun 07, Thanks so much for this list! So still holding parts of it back for later.

Among Disney, she loves the jungle book, Robin Hood, Mary poppins, aristocats. Same with Aladdin and the lion king — I was pleased to see these on your older lists.

Great work! Thank you for caring about our little ones! Kim Jun 09, Bravo for you for prewatching everything before showing it to your daughter! It takes a lot of extra time but is so worthwhile. Mary Poppins is our all time favourite! This list and your reviews are so helpful. Thank you!! Is Cars 3 more appropriate? Kim Jan 08, Thanks for visiting my blog! Kylie Mar 10, How do you get a 3 year Old to stop forcing us to watch Boss Baby?

Kim Mar 11, The thing is, at age three kids LOVE repetition. Maybe if you refuse to sit in the room with him and watch it? Good luck! Kylie Mar 23, Ok thank you I will try this on Thursday when I babysit him next and if it works I will let his parents know about it.

Nathan F May 13, Rebecca Mar 02, Hailey May 30, Thank you for this! Lori knight Jun 21, My daughter in law is starting a Walt Disney movie collection for my 2 yr old Grandson. It is his birthday this weekend so I am getting him about 5 movies to start his collection off.

I went on this site to look at age approoriate movies because I know that some of the movies although they are Disney movies can be kind of scary or the contents are more for 7 8 or 9 yr olds. This site has ages and then lists if movies that helped me choose Which movies I will purchase today. And future purchases to add to his growing collection. Samantha Barlow Feb 09, I love this especially since Disney plus has came out! Can this be updated with all the new live action movies out.

Alex Lowenstein Jun 27, I know that it seems like a very cutesy movie, but it has a traumatic death scene in it.

Robin Hood Men In Tights Movie Review

One of my pet peeves is when people characterize Robin Hood as some sort of left-wing redistributionist. If you read the book or watch the movie starring Errol Flynn, Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham were the bad guys because they over-taxed the peasants. Robin Hood was the good guy because he rescued the money from the tax collectors and returned it to the people who earned it. Kudos to Ted Cruz, who tried to educate a poorly informed Bernie Sanders on this topic.

I recommend using Common Sense Media to review the specific content. Robin Hood: The Movie (so many versions, but Disney is my favorite).

Modern Disney films are known for making references to previous movies, but the amount of Disney references in Zootopia is staggering. One animator said that to truly catch all of the Easter eggs in Zootopia, you would have to go frame by frame. This list compiles many of the references to past and future Disney films, as well as some random nods to ice cream companies from the east coast and a concept of biology that might have something to do with mice. Prepare to go down the rabbit hole and take a look at all the Zootopia Easter eggs that you definitely missed.

But as kids get a little older, their attention span grows, their interests expand, and parents are often looking for an hour and half of uninterrupted time.

50 Family TV Shows you can watch with your kids

If your family is like ours, there is a lot of screen time happening while we shelter in place. Almost every night is movie night. This is an excellent way for families to de-stress, especially parents, at the end of a long day juggling jobs and homeschooling. Mixing in some classic films can bring much-needed joy while helping kids to learn, create, and grow. It can also foster a lifelong love of cinema for the whole family.

‘Monkey Kingdom’ teaches positive messages

A fter a decade of use and about a year of saving, Steve and I finally entered the 21st century a few weeks ago when we purchased a new widescreen television and got rid of our old tube model—the one my nana bought for us right after Jonathan now 10 was born! This purchase was both exciting and overwhelming. We knew we could stream our Netflix membership and Amazon Prime account to the set, but with Apple TV we can also stream other channels—many of which we would not normally watch. This is even without having cable! Our kids, who generally choose one show each on Saturdays and Sundays, were clamoring at their newfound options.

Gentle, non-scary movie for preschooler? January 29, PM Subscribe My preschool-age son is scared by anything even mildly action-y or scary, but otherwise loves our newly-instituted monthly movie afternoon. I'm looking for movie suggestions for it with a few other snowflake issues inside. We're trying to institute a once-a-month "movie Sunday" to do with my 3-year-old.

My Name is Oliver Queen. While the cake is cooling in its tin, mix together the lemons juice and caster sugar to make the drizzle.

On top of that, TV ratings are not super reliable. Movies ratings tend to be safer and more accurate to me. But watching a full 2-hour movie is not an option most nights. Having a 1-hour family TV show that we all enjoy before going to bed is just about perfect. A few are from when they were younger and a few are more current, somewhat more mature shows.

Parents decide which movies are OK for their children and which contain too much violence, bad language or sexual content. But what happens when that guardianship temporarily transfers to you, the Scout leader? That becomes even more complicated when you realize that 12 parents may have a dozen different definitions of inappropriate movie content. We Scouts and Scouters prefer to have most of our fun outside.
