Summary: Langa looked miserable and Reki takes it upon himself to bring a smile to his face. Poor Langa looked miserable though. He had bundled himself up in the corner of the couch with a fluffy blanket, three pillows, and his thick white sweater with his hood pulled up and he still looked cold. His red nose and box of tissues next to him completed the sicky look along with his half lidded eyes as he sat unmoving, watching the movie they had put on.

Occasionally, he would sniffle and take in a deep shuddering breath and honestly Reki just felt bad. Reki thought for a moment trying to figure out how he could get Langa to at least smile before grinning when he came up with an idea.

Langa furrowed his brows as if not seeing how any of the outcomes were worth it but he lifted his hand anyway. Langa had chosen rock most likely because he was too tired to do anything else while Reki had chosen paper. It was cute, really- as disappointed as Langa was for not getting the ice cream, he had looked over at Reki and lifted his arms up to receive the hug that was coming his way.

Or… that he thought was coming his way. Langa let out broken giggles as Reki softly pinched his fingers up and down his sides. He made sure to keep the tickling as soft as possible so that Langa could still enjoy it with his weakened body but the little giggles made his heart absolutely melt. His skin felt hot and delicate and Reki felt a little bad, noticing just how sick Langa was feeling. Langa had always told him that smiling and laughing made him feel way better; whenever he ached, whenever he felt sluggish, whenever he felt sad, tickling always brightened his soul.

What am I tickling, Langa? Ah, that part was kind of true. Langa nodded, his eyes slightly wet from the tears that threatened to fall if Reki kept it up. He was adorable. Should I tickle you even more then? Reki rolled his eyes. No ice cream. Rock, Paper, Scissors, Cuddle… Tickle? You look really bored with the movie right now. Stop cuddling?!

Most specifically about this page. Which gives me a whole new outlook on episode 1 in particular. Mostly on this scene here which I at first just saw as a comedic moment but now all I see is this boy desperate for somebody to just share his special interest with him, a boy bursting at the seams whi just fucking wants to have someone to talk to about what he loves the most. Reki to an outsider probably looks like an overexcited idiot with no brains when really this boy is way smarter then I could ever dream of being. Like this guy packs out full Physical theory when he tries to explain skateboarding to Langa.
