The result of an illegal genetic experiment, destructive Stitch is set to be exiled to the far reaches of the galaxy — but instead ends up in a Hawaiian animal shelter and adopted as a very weird looking dog by lonely Lilo. Family means no one gets left behind. This Disney favorite is more famous for its human villain than for any of its Dalmatian dogs, even Pongo and Perdita, who fall in love and inspire their human counterparts, Roger and Anita, to follow suit. Come the late '80s, Disney animation was in deep trouble, its fairy-tale-making machine long gone off the rails, taking box-office returns with it.
Then headstrong, daydreaming Ariel swam into our world with her bright red hair and shiny dinglehoppers and brought with her the Disney Renaissance. That's a lot to shoulder for one little mermaid who only wants to be human. A case of style over substance, the Cars sequel was really just a meandering plot and a lot of noise. Loud and colourful enough to distract younger viewers, this spin-off movie was otherwise a bit of a Disney disappointment. A marginally better film than the original, the slick animation and silly humour is definitely enough to keep children entertained! Though the voice acting is okay, the animation in this feature is dated and the story is too one-dimensional and silly save the film as a whole.
