Casper is often recognized for his large and round head. He has big, bright blue eyes, dimples, and a warm smile.

He is mostly seen with a pear-shaped body along with a short ghostly tail. He is also generally shorter in height, even for a boy his age which earned his nickname "shortsheet". He often appears harmless and more approachable than most other ghosts. As a human, Casper is revealed to be very handsome and attractive, as noticed by several girls at the Halloween Dance.

He is of average height, fair skin with dark blonde hair and has the same bright blue eyes. He was dressed in a simple pirate's costume without any extra accessories. Unlike most others of his kind, Casper is genuinely friendly and is determined to stay that way. He is usually calm and collected, only having a bad temper when someone finally pushes him too far.

Unlike most other ghosts his age, he's almost always well-behaved and particularly innocent even if it goes against 'ghost-etiquette'. He almost never allows ghastly customs to change his ways.
