We knew the film was slated for a release, that it would feature an "unexpected character," and that it would chart "unexplored territory in terms of the visual aesthetics. Yes, that's "super" twice in a row. It's on purpose. The film's producers also shared images of a new character created for the movie wearing an iconic helmet and a heroic uniform. The panel's most exciting reveal wasn't the new character, however, but a brief teaser video that offered a preview of the film's new visual aesthetics.

As a child of the s, I was fortunate to grow up watching some of the absolute greatest animated shows in history, like "Hey Arnold! Fortunately, I was just the right age for the arrival of two of the best anime of all time, "Sailor Moon" and "Dragon Ball Z. It's a simple story, really, one that tells viewers that as long as you're a strong enough alien, the only thing stopping you from accomplishing the impossible is your own motivation. This is obviously a reductive way of describing "Dragon Ball Z," but trying to condense the lore of hundreds of episodes into a neat little package is ridiculous. Just watch "Dragon Ball Z" and enjoy the madness for yourself!

From as early as the first Dragon Ball anime adaptation, Toei has been churning out films on a consistent basis. With Broly coming out at the end of the year in Japan and the start of next year internationally, every single major Dragon Ball anime will have at least one movie in its series. There have been a few quiet periods here and there, but, for the most part, Dragon Ball has never slowed down when it comes to its cinematic side. As a result, there are a little over thirty different movies in the entire franchise each one of a varying quality. It makes sense that over thirty films in over thirty years would result in a lack of consistent quality, after all, and the Dragon Ball anime is a piece of media that is inherently flawed. There are equal ups and downs. Reportedly, Akira Toriyama hated the live-action movie so much that it inspired him to once again involve himself with the series, rewriting Battle of Gods and effectively kicking us off into this new era of modern Dragon Ball. In that respect, you literally cannot forget about Evolution no matter how hard you try. It is an awful movie that does everything in its power to stray away from the Dragon Ball mythos, but it also single-handedly revived the franchise and gave use Dragon Ball Super.

And through those adventures, fans have been treated to some shockingly amazing films and some pretty terrible or wholly mediocre ones as well.
