It's amazing that on the one internet forum most likely to love this game, there isn't a single topic devoted to the titular game and subsequent franchise. I mean there's Xenoglossia discussion, and a few topics about the manga, but still, I'm really surprised! It's so well written I can actually feel that I'm a Japanese version of myself while playing as The Producer.

I can only hope someone takes this up as a serious project someday. I'm also a little embarrassed to say this, but as someone who has a history of rancor against moe culture and the fans who love it, this game has taught me what "moe" really means and how it's distinct from all the definitions people mistakenly ascribe to it.

I feel I needed this insight to really appreciate how great a game The Idolmaster really is. Now that I've shared, please show me your love for this awesome game. Expect Xbox sales to triple for a while and expect Berserk to go on an indefinite hiatus again. The game is more than a little creepy.

Translation: I've never played the game and just watched a few Youtube videos and I'm just spewing nonsense. Expect Xbox sales to triple for a while and expect Berserk to go on an indefinite hiatus again Looks like MS finally figured out that Japan likes minimally interactive games with dancing and singing girls. In fact if it has dancing and singing girls in it it doesn't matter what it is, akihabara will be all over it. Seriously is there any way for any of us out here to play it without learning japanese?

Get a Japanese and import it. Yes is region locked. For the record: region locking is a silly idea, but that is a rant for another time short form: if I can buy an audio CD anywhere on Earth and be sure it'll play on any capable device, no questions asked, there's no excuse for games to be any different.

Extra credit if they release a collection of the soundtracks' various choral pieces with the girls on vocals. Now, who at Namco should I get in touch with about this? Also: curiousity piqued by the existence of a sequel; thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Interesting coincidence: a key location in Dead to Rights: Retribution yes, Namco publishes this franchise too is 'Dock '.

This prompted me to consider the amusing mental image of an alternate outfit for that game's protagonist consisting of a teal blazer and dark slacks Nice rebuttal there, houkoholic Expect Xbox sales to triple for a while and expect Berserk to go on an indefinite hiatus again Cue Berserk fans screaming in horror. There's an ongoing translation project for IM S SP with great promise, it could be done by this time next year or sooner. The downside is the SP is a pale imitation of the powerful graphics seen in the game, and the game's divided into three parts but otherwise it's the same game.

I'm really amazed at how well you know my own state of mind and opinions on things, seeing how you don't even know who I am and mind-reading is impossible and all. I said the game creeps me out. And no, I haven't played it because I don't speak or read Japanese.

I have watched Let's Plays of the game and even when you're not being a complete and utter scumbag to the girls, the dialogues are extremely suggestive to the point where I feel like it was originally an H-game adapted for mass market. I raepd mah client rawr! I mean Miki is a 14 year old who "just has boobs that big, we dunno"?? If you don't like, don't like, but I don't think it's fair to hound someone for stating the obvious. Why exactly does everyone know that this game will never officially hit the shores of North America?

Actually this might be Truth in Television because I've seen some teenage girls with three times the boobs I've got Go Go Miki, Producer-san daisuki daiyo. I feel dirty typing that but it had to be said, although I hope there is more diva battles and company changes which would be awesome.

It's pretty obvious that the game doesn't have completely innocent intentions. She's not even that big. But if you really want to know the answer, one of the interviews with the producer asked this, and it went along the line of 'Idolm ster is apparently very popular overseas, do you ever have any intention of releasing outside of Japan? No one cares about the 'sexual' problem because it doesn't exist. Only in the minds of perverted people. I don't want to turn this into a 'let's defend Idolm ster against the ignorant masses' but what specifically gives you that idea?

There is nothing to defend here. You can't defend idolmaster, it is what it is. And yet close to 1 million otaku buy this game and they love it. Idolmaster was designed for a very specific subset of otaku.

It is in particular, very much a boy's playground. If you are not part of that particular group, then it is a coincidence that you are even seeing this game let alone be in an authority to judge it. As passersby, we merely acknowledge that the game is creepy for some and move on. Ah, thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Which given new life to the Shakespearean line 'I think they doth protest too much'. Freud didn't say that, it was posthumously attributed to him after the whole Clinton-Lewinski debacle. The point is that it shouldn't be creepy for anyone. Anything can seem creepy if it's shown off and skewed in a certain bias. Doesn't make it the truth. How can you determine that it isn't creepy for anyone? I can probably find a million things that happens in Zimbabwe that both of us would agree is just utterly scary.

People are scared of what they are scared of. If even one person in the world finds Idolmaster creepy, then it is creepy for that one person. It's not about should or should not be. I sense a bit of delusion from the people who are defending this game - it is what it is.

If the girls weren't underaged, the game wouldn't have sold as well. People who buy this game want to stare at underaged girls all day.

I do not hold against someone's right to find something creepy. As I said, people can find anything creepy. I protest against the specific grounds in this case, the specific reason the specified person finds Idolm ster creepy, because it is an incorrect impression. Actually, my main is Ritsuko, so no, sorry to say your assumption is wrong. C'est une pipe, non? Considering that moe is often linked to objectification. I don't mind it when in fiction, but I won't stand up and scream that moe should be accepted by everyone and isn't an issue.

Man wtf, I'm leaving this thread. It's getting too hot and flamey. Naysayers - Idolm ster is a fairly innocent game. It is not a porn or an exploitation game a la Sengoku Rance. If you choose to not play innocently, it's your own fault for indulging in your own perversion, not that there's anything wrong with that.

The decisions were yours and no one else's. But do not imply other people are lolicons because they enjoy playing the game. If you find the loli distracting it's more likely you have a problem, not the game. That said, I don't know how people are defining loli here considering the average girl in this game is Please don't take it personally. It's mostly just random people blowing steam to attract attention.

I'm sure most of the people in this topic only know about the game because of the Berserk in-joke, and it would be really ironic if the people denouncing IM s here are singing Berserk's praises in its respective topic. As I said in my OP, I was a "hater" myself once upon a time. Moe, IM S, the works. My signature still bears an advertisement for SaiGar , such was my enmity. I was first enchanted by the game's music, which sometimes tied into themes of the Idols themselves. This is especially apparent in their signature songs.

As a fan of visual novels and the "simulation" aspects of them, I grew to appreciate the interactive dialogues with the Idols. Through this combination of hooks, I was able to understand why moe is both magnetic and ubiquitous.

I don't expect all people to see things like I do, but I made this thread to talk with people who already understand and introduce people to the game in the chance that moe might "click" for them too.

There's no mind reading - because below is exactly what you said: The game is more than a little creepy. What you said was wrong and shows complete ignorant of the game. I merely pointed out the facts. Facts triumph over opinion. It is obvious that this game is to ogle at hawt girls. Not necessarily underaged. Maybe i'm just genre blind but i don't see anything perverted about this game.

If it was, i would have notice it immediately. To me, this game is nothing more than producing a singing pop star.

In Aikatsu Photo on Stage, I was unable to help android users locate the game as it does not run on Bluestacks or any rooted devices. I do not know if the same holds true for Idolmaster Theater Days as well. Also in the case of this game when registering for a new account, be sure you select Japan as your country. This cannot be changed later. Later, if Bandai ever releases the game in North America and in English you will have to make a new Bandai account to play the English versions of the game. Idolmaster Cinderella Produce [Japanese]

Maybe it was from watching a red-haired, mecha-piloting girl mentally tear herself apart under the weight of her own expectations, and feeling a similar sense of despair in my own weighty ambitions that I failed. Maybe it was from re-reading the same fantasy novels about a particular boy wizard over and over again, feeling that the only escape I ever had from reality was in those books. Maybe it was from listening to early s emo bands that obviously listened to a lot of The Smiths , and were the soundtrack to some of my most socially anxious years.

The [email protected] Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage is a rhythm game spin-off based off of The [email protected] Cinderella Girls franchise. Primary gameplay focuses on tapping, holding, sliding and flicking various types of notes to the beat of a song as they descend from the top of the screen to a 5-note, horizontal panel at the bottom. The game relies on a card collection mechanic in the form of idols; performers with particular stats and abilities that relate to the rhythm gameplay. Idols are collected, raised and improved through mechanics common to Japanese mobile games. One of the highly promoted features is the "communication" feature; Visual Novel -like sequences which push the main story and the stories of the individual idols forward.
