I was a fan of the movies when I was a kid and I liked the old cartoon. When I found out that the movie was rated PG, I became concerned that the film would try and lure in older viewers like me with added unnecessary violence and bad language. After seeing the movie, I can report that my fears were only partially relieved. It is a ninja movie, so there is a lot of fighting. And in this Ninja movies, the Footclan bring their guns to a knife fight. Movies have long tried to take the blow out of violent movies by hiding the faces of the victims.

Turtles Forever

Turtles Forever is a made-for-tv animated movie. Produced in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, the movie teams up different incarnations of the titular heroes—chiefly the light-hearted, child-friendly characters from the animated series and the darker cast of the 4Kids' own animated series—in an adventure that spans multiple universes.

I love the mix between the series, series and the comics. All great series in one movie. Can't go wrong with that. Turtles Forever is less of a respectful crossover between two versions of TMNT franchise and more of the writers of the "edgy" 4kids turtles lashing back at the 80's version.

For starters, these are not the 80's turtles. They more resemble the turtles from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3. They are seen as stupid, cowardly, lame and even when they do something right, it is always treated like they are still screw ups.

Now I am not saying that you can't be criticial or satirical of the 80's turtles. However, the way this special potrayed them seemed like the writers were trying to make their overrated and generic version of the turtles cooler. If you don't believe me , I…. This animated feature showcases three incarnations of the Ninja Turtles including the late s cartoon, late s-early s cartoon and the original black and white comic book from This is pretty much everything I could ask for a movie aimed at kids.

The animation of the s cartoon is very slick and blocky. That doesn't stop the animators from showing the more round and friendly version that I grew up on and the gritty Eastman and Laird versions in unison.
