Any idea what the two shorts that are missing called? Does this set have any dubbing? As I'd have to source the uncut one's from old video's if there are any. They did have a rocky start with volume's 1 and 2, but had a product recall and reinstated 2 shorts and had 'most' episodes uncut. However, that collection only has episodes rather than , where the uk classics collection has , but been shredded. So your right, there is not a single set out there that is even close to the original's. Well at least I can just purchase the uk set, have more short's and just put up with the cut's until I dust the old vhs off and convert them across to a more suitable format.

Damn they even cut smoking out of it since , and a list of cut's here though not complete It really make's me laugh that we can have sex, drugs, rape and all manner of swearing on tv, but not a cartoon cat smoking or any of them with so called offending 'racial content'.

Please, it's a cartoon where a cat and a mouse can smash eachother in the face with a red hot iron, but we are too fragile a nation to handle comedy for children. I don't want to cause any offence to anyone, but why on earth can we not simply have our cartoons in their original form? The little Orphan even won an Oscar if I remember correctly when reading about it. The blu ray release is completely uncut and further volumes are said to include the missing cartoons from the spotlight sets They also look really good in hd.

Oh yeah, completely forgot about the Blu-ray that was released recently. This for me is a brilliant cartoon and I am waiting for all of them to be released many hours spent with my best friend not so long ago watching these. Call me hard to please, but I'm certainlly not giving them extra money for Blu Ray just because they decided to include uncut versions on them, why on earth would I do that? They should have not butchered them on dvd in the first place Well, you can watch the lot on youtube for free, so I'll just stick with watching them on yourube for until they do the job properly on the dvd's which they have proved they wont or wait until the blu rays have all been released and are as cheap for the whole lot as they are on dvd I'm not sure why you tube, or indeed WB, allow's the shorts to be streamed on there.

I think I might fire them a mail and ask them myself. So let's hope that when they get it all done there are short's all uncut. Love how in the description it states that there are 40 shorts and on the box only They are making mistake's already.

The US Blu-Ray is a joy. I had forgotten how well crafted these cartoons are as well as how enjoyable they are to watch. I recently also bought the Looney Tunes Vol.

However, judging from these first volumes only, Tom and Jerry are streets ahead both in terms of animation and entertainment value. Are you sure you want to do that? You might end up with the "Removed due to a copyright claim" message greeting you the next time you want to watch the shorts on youtube.

Here's some info regarding volume one: "Tom and Jerry Golden Collection, Volume One is going to be released on the 25th October in the USA, and will feature the first complete run of 37 remastered theatrical shorts, all presented in thier original 1. According to Cartoonbrew, each cartoon has been taken from the CRI negative elements and are described as being 'pristine'.

Apparently, the rare Mouse Cleaning episode will not be included here, but after the discovery of the nitrate negative it'll be inside Volume Two. Nine of the episodes will have a commentary track by 'animation experts' and an additional hour of extra features will include the retrospective Vaudeville, Slapstick and Tom and Jerry featurette.
