Disclaimer: This is a work of fanfiction set in the Junjou Romantica universe, all recognisable characters and settings are the property of Shungiku Nakamura and associates. No money is made from this work. It turned out to be rather long. Waiting Miyagi liked to think of himself as a realistic man — he knew that love at first sight, destiny and marriage all made more sense on television than they did in the real world.

People fall in love gradually. People meet by chance. That guy liked to say they would have met anyway. Miyagi liked to say that sounded ridiculous. Miyagi had never been fond of public transport. It smelt like what it was - too many people squashed into a small space. He spent the first Monday night on the train home from work crushed between the wall and some young male. It was possibly the most uncomfortable thirty-five minutes of his life.

He plastered himself to the wall to avoid making things inappropriate. If he made even the smallest movement forward his crotch would make direct contact with the backside of the man in front.

There had already been a few awkward brushes from train jerking around and Miyagi could not afford to settle a sexual harassment case. He literally thanked the Gods when the person in front of him left the train. Clearly unappreciative of the effort it had taken Miyagi to not rub against him for the whole journey, the young man turned around to glare. On Tuesday, he noticed him again. They were standing opposite each other for most of the journey home.

The stranger had blush-stained cheeks the whole time. The poor guy was probably terrified of Miyagi after the previous day, thinking he was a pervert or something. He tried to avoid making eye contact with him and travelled home with the uncomfortable, prickly feeling of someone staring at him. During his attempt to retrieve it, the card was trampled on by approximately thirteen feet. It was snatched up suddenly and Miyagi worried for a moment, before realising there was no way that baby-faced kid from the train could steal his identity.

Though, he supposed, he could still sell it or something. Miyagi looked him in the eye with his most innocent I-am-not-a-creep expression. Miyagi was running late on Thursday. He just missed the train by a few minutes. He did not expect his new best train buddy to be waiting on the platform.

Miyagi suddenly felt a little like the victim of a stalker. The stranger flushed and hesitated for a moment, before making his way to Miyagi. His facial expression was anything but friendly. You can call me Shinobu. Miyagi knew why the glare had seemed so familiar. By the time he had finished elaborating, the next train had arrived. They leapt on together. Miyagi supposed they were going to spend the journey getting to know each other.

And they did. As they got closer to home, Shinobu informed him that they should spend some time together, since he had been abroad throughout the marriage and divorce. We can ride together from now on. Or I can cook for you. Growing up with Risako as his only sibling, he had to pity him a bit. Intoxicated The next day, they met at the station but did not take a train. Shinobu insisted on their first date being sooner rather than later. Miyagi did not read too much into him using the word date.

It was difficult to find a suitable word to describe it. They went to a bar that he often visited with Kamijou after work. It felt wrong drinking with someone the same age as his undergraduates, but Miyagi was certain that just the two of them at the apartment would have been much more awkward.

Takatsuki Shinobu was more talkative when drinking. He lived alone even though his family lived close by. He did not need a part time job — his parents were rich. He was single, though interested in someone.

It was a shame, Miyagi thought, since he had a nice face and a smile would look good on it. I should ease up on the alcohol, was the thought that succeeded that.

Shinobu liked to ask questions. A fair amount of drinks later, they headed out with the hope of catching the last train. They were moving slowly and not quite managing to walk a straight line. It was pouring down with rain outside; Shinobu found it hilarious and Miyagi called him a child but chuckled quietly to himself. He watched Shinobu laugh. He was right about his smile being nice. He felt bad for encouraging the alcoholic corruption of someone who barely looked over eighteen.

It was the face that made him look young. Too cute for him to be all grown up. Suddenly their faces were close together. Then the realisation hit and he was pulling away and Shinobu was looking at the ground, horrified.

His face turned serious. Our destinies are really… together. My colours are boring now. I meet you. You have lots of different colours. And so if we share I make my painting look so much better. You get new colours too. I want to share colours with you, Miyagi. Only you. They made it to the platform early.

Out of nowhere, Shinobu sniffled loudly. Miyagi realised what he had just implied. He sighed. What harm could one more sober conversation do? Shinobu sobbed. Miyagi patted him on the shoulder helplessly and wondered what he had started. Falling It made more sense in the morning — of course Shinobu had gotten drunk and mistaken Miyagi for a tall, muscular, generally masculine woman.

At least, that was the only explanation he could come up with when he woke up too early with an aching head. Shinobu probably had a terrible hangover. Miyagi hoped he was okay. Shinobu did nothing to indicate that he genuinely wanted to paint pictures and entwine destinies with Miyagi. The sad puppy-dog looks Miyagi noticed Shinobu give him occasionally were probably just his imagination. There was no real reason that they continued to spend time together, mostly making small talk and fighting off awkward silences.

Shinobu was clingy and came out with some of the oddest statements Miyagi had ever heard. Regardless, he could not find a convincing reason to tell Shinobu that was it, that they were not meeting again. They only spent a few hours a week together anyway and it was nice to have some company.

The truth about Boys’ Love and rape culture

Yaoi is purely made for the consumption of women TO fetishize gay men. It is a creepy fetish. How is yaoi harming gay men? Is this inherent to yaoi, or is it something common in yaoi but not essential? Allow me to explain, in some detail, as a gay man, how exactly yaoi is a harmful genre for the gay male community. Allow me to clarify somethings beforehand.

But there are definitely some popular romance animes that are objectively a cut above the rest. These are the ones that you can watch repeatedly — and that will often leave the entire room crying.
