It aired in japan in the fall of for 12 episodes and is based on the manga of the same name by Niko Tanigawa. Tomoko Kuroki is a 1 st year high school student who has no friends, no prospects for a future and no ambition.

Anime: Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui!

I found out about this anime about a week and a half ago through a review in the "Otaku USA" magazine by the way check that magazine out it's cool and I literally watched the show all in one go. I missed out on a night of sleep but it was worth it!! So basically this anime is about a girl named Tomoko Kuroki who suffers severely from social anxiety, it's so bad that she can barely speak to anyone outside her family. She expects to become instantly popular when she starts high school, but her hopes are low when she's three months into the term and not a single person has spoken to her. The anime follows her as she desperately seeks to become popular; she tries to change up her look, she tries to be more out going, she forces her brother to talk to her and she even tries out a part time job. But, will Tomoko ever be popular? And what if it's not cracked up to what it's meant to be??! While this anime definitely isn't for everyone there is something just about everyone can relate to.

WataMote, short for the ridiculously long Watashi ga Motenai no wa do Kangaetemo Omarera ga Warui , defies my expectations by being a surprisingly poignant, though sometimes uncomfortable, comedy. There are a fair amount of outcast heroines in anime, but none of them hold a candle to Tomoko Kuroki. She desperately wants her classmates to like her, but her crippling social anxiety keeps her from making any progress. She can barely form words when someone addresses her and shies away from any type of group activity.
