Ore Monogatari: Their Love Story
Premise : Takeo Goda is a giant guy with a giant heart. They always go for his good-looking best friend, Sunakawa. Used to being on the sidelines, Takeo simply stands tall and accepts his fate.
But one day when he saves a girl named Yamato from a harasser on the train, his love! Takeo can hardly believe it when he crosses paths with Yamato again, and he finds himself falling in love with her… But with handsome Sunakawa around, does Takeo even stand a chance? The first three or four episodes are taken straight from the trope playbook, with dramatic events and sequences showing up ever-so-conveniently to allow our main characters to fall in love. It also FAR exceeded my expectations regarding its comedic elements and timing.
This show does what I want to see more of in romance centered shows in that our protagonists confess their love and get together at the beginning of the show, and the bulk of it is building upon that. You are commenting using your WordPress.

Beauty Might Only be Skin-Deep Takeo Goda s hulking physique and affinity for sports make him popular with other guys, but girls just find him intimidating. Unaware of his gentle nature, the girls that Takeo likes always seem to fall for his handsome best friend, Suna, instead. Takeo is resigned to being Suna s wingman, with no hard feelings between them, until Takeo rescues Rinko Yamato from a molester on the train. Unfortunately, while Rinko might see past Takeo s brutish appearance, Takeo s become so conditioned to girls preferring Suna that he assumes Rinko is the same! Being the good, genuine guy he is, he s going to do everything he can to help the two of them be happy.

Even in the case of Japanese manga and anime, this societal norm still rings true; character designs seldom stray from a slim, attractive figure. The protagonist, Taeko, is constantly misjudged, but kind and righteous. In the first episode, Takeo lives what is an ordinary day for him by going out of his way to protect and help a stranger. That stranger turns out to be Rinko, a sweet girl who is instantly attracted to Takeo for his benevolence, morality and sense of justice. The two quickly begin dating, and then comes the real treasure of this anime — the story of how they fall deeper and deeper in love. It makes you wonder if Takeo really loves her, or if he just loves having a girlfriend and is simply enjoying that partnership. For example, there is the classically disheveled, glasses-wearing character who longs to make friends, but is blatantly ignored by his classmates solely because of his undesirable appearance. But here, Ore Monogatari!! Sunakawa is not a one dimensional character in the sense that his only purpose as a character is to serve as the attractive male counterpart to Takeo. He delivers hilarious one-liners and demonstrates integrity in his loyalty as a friend time and time again.
