Attack on titan movie movie

So what does that mean? Could there possibly be a movie to finish the story? Or would a movie be a mistake for an anime this complex? Note: This is an article for anime-only viewers, so no manga spoilers will be shared. Check out our review and analysis of Episode 86 here. Some fans think a movie is definitely in the cards for Attack on Titan, especially considering that MAPPA just released a movie for a different popular anime.

Upcoming Attack on Titan Movie Will Recap the First Three Seasons

The popular manga has spawned several manga spinoffs, the hit anime the second season of which is set to air this spring , two live action feature films which used a breathtaking combination of digital and tokusatsu practical effects, effectively presenting the story as a duo of kaiju films , several video games, a new American produced anthology collection, a Universal Studios Japan theme park attraction, and a mountain of merchandise.

After nearly eight years of media domination, Attack on Titan is only growing in popularity, and there seems to be no end in sight. It should come as no shock, then, that US film companies have started to take notice of this popularity. A potential US Attack on Titan adaptation has been rumored for several years, but never confirmed as a potential consideration.

However, all this has changed with revelation that an American Attack on Titan film might be forthcoming after all…. If the acquisition goes through, it would be yet another giant monster IP for Warner Brothers, with the company already in control of Godzilla , King Kong , the original Pacific Rim , and the upcoming films Rampage and Monsterpololypse.

Currently, as the deal is not yet official, no director or potential release date for the proposed American Attack on Titan film have ben announced. Source: Deadline. For one thing, the last two live action films weren't that great. They weren't terrible, but they could have been better I can only say this in confidence about the first one, I haven't seen the second one. The only part I was really compelled by was when Eren turned into a Titan during the first movie and slaughtered the other Titans, causing the surviving ones to slowly back away while muttering the word "nope" repeatedly.

They didn't actually say anything but if you look at them, its basically what is happening. However, American monster movies have been doing very well. The Godzilla was a major improvement to the version major improvement is an understatement but let's move on shall we?

If done right, an American Attack on Titan could be very well. However, there is the known fact that anime made into live action films in America tend to suck Dragon Ball Evolution and The Last Airbender that wasn't even an anime. So, if it happens, this could go either way. Especially if you enjoy good old fashioned kaiju brawl movies like War of the Gargantuas! I really enjoyed both of the movies, and I've always felt that, if done well, an American adaptation could be good as well!

It could definitely work, and be very scary. It is an adaptation of the video game franchise of the same name that features a giant lizard, gorilla, and werewolf destroying cities. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will star. Monsterpocolypse is still in development, but is based off the tabletop game of the same name, which tells the story of various factions of giant monsters and giant robots facing off all over the world, with apocalyptic consequences.

There is no release date yet. I never saw War of the Gargantuas. I want too but I can't find it. And I want to see Frankenstein Conquers the World first because the Gargantuas supposedly spawn from the Frankenstein monster. I'm more interested in this Rampage movie. Is there an article or a trailer somewhere on Scified?

I do agree that an American version could work. When I was first getting into Godzilla around the age of 5 , I used to skip to and only watch the monster fights. I never cared for the plot. As I grew older, I started to watch the whole films but it was always the giant monsters using a city like a wrestling ring that kept me through any monster movie, regardless of how good or bad the plot is.

If the Titan fights are good, then I can give it a shot. Or, you can rent it for 3 bucks. Here's Frankenstein , although seeing it first isn't necessary, as they barely have anything to do with each other in terms of story. But damn, is it ever a great film. And yes, the fight scenes are worth it. Just imagine two Gargantua-esque Kaiju beating the heck out of each other in the ruins of a crumbling town, while humans zip past them using cables, all in an effort to help the good Titan carry an unexploded warhead up the side of a wall, only to have a Titan the size of your average mountain trying to stop him, and you've got a pretty good picture of how awesome the movie is.

Definitely worth a watch! I love the Attack on Titan Anime and Manga. As long as the Titan fights make up for any faults in the plots. If I don't need to see Frankenstein first, then I will watch War of the Gargantuas as soon as possible. Thank you for answering my questions. Many anime series have become phenomena that have relevance beyond the anime community. Attack on Titan is a special example thanks to a passionate audience that has stuck with the changing characters through the apocalyptic body horror war drama. Three seasons of incredible storytelling have played out over the course of seven years and the series is finally coming to an end with its fourth season. This is a nice bonus, since these movies often allow the cast to re-experience old moments, but with a fresh perspective.

This article is about the live-action movie.
