In the beginning, Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies were built around songs from Warner's vast music library, starting with Sinkin' in the Bathtub , a pun on the song Singin' in the Bathtub in Warner made a deal with Leon Schlesinger to produce cartoons for them. Schlesinger hired Rudolf Ising and Hugh Harman to produce the first series of cartoons. When Harman and Ising left Warner Bros. A new character called Buddy became the only star of the Looney Tunes series for a couple of years.

New directors including Tex Avery , Friz Freleng and Bob Clampett were brought in or promoted to work with animators in the Schlesinger studio, with Avery's unit housed in a bungalow the animators dubbed " Termite Terrace.

Beans was later phased out when his popularity declined, leaving Porky as the only star of the Schlesinger studio. The shorts from this era can be identified by their different title sequence, featuring stylized limited animation and graphics on a black background and a new arrangement, by William Lava , of "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down". It is the only time in which Looney Tunes characters have shared screen time with their rivals at Disney producers of the film —particularly in the scenes where Bugs and Mickey Mouse are skydiving, and when Daffy and Donald Duck are performing their "Dueling Pianos" sequence. Looney Tunes Returning to Theaters and TV

His life has been occupied with audio, from his time at Berklee College of Music, to his post-production work at Warner Bros. However, low sound quality or ambient noise is one of the most common barriers to the kind of audience engagement podcasters aim for. Just like deciphering a hard-to-read font can distract readers from a great story, difficult-to-understand audio can distract listeners from the message of the podcast. After almost 30 years of working with audio, Wenner sees himself and other sound producers as storytellers first. He does something that all podcasters have to learn to do: listen attentively. Once you begin to train your ears to the world around you, sounds like the buzz of an air conditioning unit or the trill of … start to stand out. In fact, excessive post-production noise reduction can actually detract from sound quality and result in a podcast that sounds far from natural.

Praise the lord for animation. After all, nothing untoward happens there right? I mean, take that Wile E. Coyote fellow for example. Just remember Wile E. Tawt you taw a puddy tat did you? All I know is that the crime rates here are on the rise and this town needs a sheriff… and fast. Sounds like a fair cop to me. Now you tell me, am I wrong for finding her deeply irresistible?

Comment by Lynn Ashley — March 3, pm. This is a tough question because there are so many good animated movies to choose from but the one I love still to this day will always be Peter Pan! I first fell in love with Peter when Mary Martin played Peter! I remember watching her perform on television and making sure my parents recorded it for me.

Most of these cartoons were actually not bad, and they came courtesy of some talented animation directors like Greg Ford, Terry Lennon and Darrell Van Citters. Beginning in , Warner Bros.

The Best Movies and TV Shows Coming to Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime, and Hulu in July

The film is introduced to us by Bugs Bunny who is giving us a tour of his mansion, while he is doing this he is discussing framed pictures of characters he has met in his past and explains his previous interactions with these characters through animated shorts. Most of these Looney Tunes films are compilations of old animated shorts so I will discuss a handful that I think are the best in the compilation. The premise of Long Haired Hare is about Bugs Bunny trying to play various instruments and enjoy his music, in a house near by an enthusiastic opera singer is practising for an upcoming show but Bugs music keeps distracting him and the bully of a singer keeps destroying Bugs instruments forcing Bugs to take revenge by conducting his show and the results are absolutely hysterical, the only downside is that in the movie this cartoon is shortened so your not watching full original version. Daffy Duck stars as Robin Hood and in this version of the story Daffy is a really clumsy and cocky Robin Hood who keeps failing in everything he does, he gets laughed at by fryer tuck played here by Porky Pig who does not believe that he is Robin Hood and Daffy needs to prove his identity. This is one of my favourite Daffy Duck shorts of all time, it is hilarious and full of slapstick comedy and I love it so much, there one scene in particular which involves trees that will make anyone laugh, the reason I have put this so low on my top 5 is because again in this movie its shortened which sucks because it really is a fantastic cartoon.

In support of his argument, he presented video clips of Walt Disney and Walter Lantz discussing the qualifications of the people who wrote their cartoons. See also, Page 5 of the Disney Training Manual. In listening to these arguments by current cartoon scriptwriters, I began to wonder how much they really knew about the process used to make the classic cartoons they expressed respect for. I posed a simple question…. Surely current cartoon writers would have golden age writer heros, just like animators study golden age animators like Milt Kahl or Grim Natwick ….

A film director, like an orchestra conductor, is the lord of his domain, and no director has more power than a director of animated films. He is set free from the rules of the physical universe and the limitations of human actors, and can tell any story his mind can conceive. Coyote, immediately wrote down the rules of what could and could not happen in their universe.

Remember those things? Before computers changed the way we create, mostly for the better I think, people used to painstakingly animate by hand. Each frame is drawn and redrawn hundreds, thousands of times over to give 2d flat images life.
