Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers Review
Our three heros Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, are but poor waifs in Paris at the start of our story when they are seized upon by a band of thugs. While they do end up at Musketeer Headquarters when they grow up, they aren't there as swashbuckling heroes, but rather as janitors, and not very good ones at that.
Meanwhile, Peg-leg Pete, the Musketeer Captain, has hatched an evil plan to oust Queen Minnie from the throne and make himself king. Counting on their constant bumbling to assist his plan, Pete makes Mickey, Donald and Goofy official Musketeers and charges them with guarding the queen. It was a wise choice for Disney to send this tale straight to DVD. In fact, it has more heart and originality than most of the recent non-Pixar-related Disney animated productions.
But really it reminds you more of an extended version of the animated shorts of the 30s and 40s than a full blown feature film. I caught myself laughing out loud several times throughout the 68 minute show. How can you not chuckle at the sight of Goofy singing a love ballad to Clarabelle Cow as she sadistically chains him up to drown him in a river? Little kids will love the slapstick humor and fast paced story.
Beyond the movie, this is definitely a kids-only release. But it also has an age appropriate making-of featurette and a single scene from the movie with made up commentary dialogue from Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pete. Throw in a few deleted scenes, mostly rough drawn pre-production sequences, and you have a complete bundle of features that will make the kiddies feel like they are watching extras just like the grown ups do.

Kid reviews for Mickey, Donald and Goofy: The Three Musketeers
At just over 17 minutes long, Mickey - Donald - Goofy: The Three Musketeers is one of the shorter soundtracks released by Disney in a while, but it's also one of their more consistent albums. Like the direct-to-video film it supports, the soundtrack casts Disney characters in a retelling of Alexandre Dumas ' classic tale; the songs, meanwhile, appropriate well-known classical pieces and add appropriate lyrics. Most of the songs are sung by "the Troubadour," which makes the album less annoying to grown-up ears than having, say, Donald Duck sing on all of the tracks, but it's also a slightly bland approach. And even though the Schoolhouse Rock!

This trend seems to show no signs of stopping at the moment, but it shouldn't mean that the medium of animation should be devalued compared to the live-action medium. In fact, rather than Disney doing live-action remakes of animated films, what if they tried their hand at doing animated remakes of some of their live-action films? There are quite a few live-action entries from Disney that weren't the biggest successes, but perhaps shifting them into fully animated projects could allow them to thrive in ways that they couldn't before. Disney's adaptation, however, was set in the normal world, with Underdog being a regular dog that gains his powers before being adopted by a former cop and his son. The film, therefore, felt more like a predictable, unfunny comedy where a dog helps a boy come out of his shell.
MDG: The Three Musketeers
A Direct to Video feature from Disney that for once isn't a sequel to a theatrical film or a TV episode compilation. As the name suggests, it's the stars of the Classic Disney Shorts in the roles of The Three Musketeers , or at least a story similar in nature. At 68 minutes, it is the longest fully-animated non-interactive sustained story that Mickey and Donald have ever starred in. Mickey Mouse , Donald Duck and Goofy are three janitors who dream of becoming musketeers, but Mickey's size, Donald's cowardice and Goofy's intelligence or lack thereof are handicaps from their goal. Since said captain is planning to take over the kingdom, he decides to promote the three, hoping they'll be bungling enough not to ruin his plans. The story is told by the Troubador, a singing turtle who is supposedly narrating it on live television.

Incase I havn't made it clear i'm a Disney fan like many of you I grew up with films from the companies long history but there's a few films that even I havn't seen the film i'm about to review today is one such film so here is my review of Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers. The plot of this movie is Mickey , Donald and Goofy become musketeers in order to save Princess Minnie and her lady in waiting Daisy. Yeah I don't really think I need to say who the main villain since Disney only has one villain in the Mickey Mouse universe and the story goes the exact way you think it's going to go but to the films credit it does have so good good pacing and Jim Cummings does have a great villain voice. I admit my only reason for seeing this movie was seeing how The Beagle Boys would play into it and yeah there role in the film is pretty much what I expected and guys I think that it;s safe to say that all those in the main cast are Disney legends and it's not hard to see why since they are all really talented actors and there really good in this movie.

Pete secretly wants to get rid of the queen, so he appoints Mickey and his bumbling friends as guardians to Minnie, thinking such a maneuver will ensure his scheme's success.
The movie opens with Troubadour, a French-speaking turtle with an affinity for music, reminding a television show narrator that he had promised Troubadour one of his songs would be used in the show that day. The narrator silently breaks his promise and walks away from Troubadour. Not looking where he is going, he falls into a hole in the floor as the show begins.
It's completely useless.
