Although many of these 1970s cartoons might not hold up in quality compared to some of the animated series of today, they are still incredibly interesting to take a look at. As well, those who caught these shows back in the day will certainly be reminded of their childhoods. Many will have incredibly fond memories of curling up on the couch with a bowl of sugary cereal to watch these series on Saturday mornings.

Some of the most nostalgic animated series from the 1970s include Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, Schoolhouse Rock!, Josie and the Pussycats, and The Pink Panther Show. Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! only lasted for two seasons after its 1969 premiere, though it went on to become one of the defining cartoon franchises of the ensuing decade thanks to its numerous spin-offs. Josie and the Pussycats and The Pink Panther Show both utilized characters that had become popular in other mediums, with the latter being produced by Friz Freleng of Looney Tunes fame.
